1) Does anyone know where I could find the U.S. woodland shirt that has arm/sleeve pockets. It looks a little heavier than a regular combat shirt. It kinda looks like a safari jacket but in a woodland pattern. Or, if you could at least tell me the proper name for it.

2) If I can't get the official issue, what are the best knock-off brands out there? Tru-Spec?

Diamondback Tactical used to make a modified BDU top. I have one and it's held up rather nice.

Soldiers have been taking off the lower pockets and sewing them back onto the sleeves since the late 80's

don't really understand what all the hype is about the "RAID" blouse now

LOL Exactly..Just get an old ratty BDU blouse that has good lower pockects and rip them off and sew em to another blouses sleeves with a sewing machine....I rekin they use the word "RAID" to appear sexier to some of the gear queers that think gear makes the man....

Hahahahaha...yup.

I think it cost me about six bucks to have the local sew-shop sew the sleeves on the pockets...little bit more to add velcro. Or I guess you could get the "sexy" one from a HSLD catalog for $70

Just do like me, DIY

Remove upper and lower pockets, sew lower pockets instead of upp and sew lower in the sleeves.

BUT! if you plan to use a vest over the jacket, you can always just remove the upper pockets and put them on the sleeves, if wearing a vest you will almost never use the upper pockets.

I did neither of the above, I had some 3 color desert fabric from a pair of pants I tore, so I just made pockets from scratch and sewed them on
