Hey I was just wondering, how come you see marines wearing the regular interceptor armor in iraq, but in afghanistan they are wearing just the ceramic plates? What is up with that?

You can wear just ceramic plates? Since when?
You mean just a plate carrier and no Kevlar?

Where did you get the idea we use Interceptors over in A-Stan. Every soldier there wears ALICE gear {WINK WINK}

Some Marine commands allow certain sections to rock out in just a PC. There have been entire Marine units issued the BHI PC, so I'm assuming that they would be allowed to wear it in theater. Afghanistan is less of an IED threat, so the full armor is counterproductive, especially in the mountains.

That IED statement isn't as true as it used to be. IED's are being increasingly used, with even greater effectiveness. All the Marines that I work with have the Interceptor IBA in plain desert tan. I'll get some pictures up tommorow.
