Paid a visit to Peenemunde last weekend, only had 40 min before the place shut so it is rather brief, not alot of gear left from the krauts most of it is russian.
Everything was labeled but due to the cold and the swiftness of my visit i read very few. so if anyone has any idea on what the stuff is feel free to comment.

I thought about that, but there seems to be so much hassle at the mo about posting stuff in the relevant thread, i reckoned history would be a safe bet.

Panoramic lense on a digicam, should have taken it off for some of the photos but was trying to film / take pics and get around the place as fast as possible without being disrespectfull to the history of the place. If it was not so cold would have liked to see the runway, cemetary and any sign of the rocket launching site, but i reckon there wouldnt be much left in the trees.

On the stone are written initials of given name and full faili name. Hardly to say tey are victims, construtors? No idea!

In English it should be as follow:

M.P. Deviat'aiev
I.L. Kdivonovov
M.A. Yemec
F. Padmivov
V.K. Sokolov
D. Sierdiayukov
I. Oleynik (could be a Polish name)
V. Yemchenko
N. Urbanowich (could be a Polish name)
P. Kutyergin

That's have been my first translation from Russian since 1988, ufff...

"Geheime Kommandosache" - a German security level, roughly translates into "top secret"

Most of the stuff at Peenemünde is Soviet or former GDR. I'm talking about the stuff outside of the museum though. Planes, helicopters, missiles, ships...
The actual V2 Museum isnt that interresting, since most of the stuff shown is old useless trash. The Soviets took away everything they could get their hands on... p-)

Various Russian Gear from Outside the museum.
Like someone else has said, there isnt alot left after the russians have been through the place, but the thought that many slave labourers lived and died there lives on and is the predominant thought, i dont think anyone goes there without forgetting that.

Barsteward!
it would appear you had a bit longer than the 40 min i had:)
great pics by the way, looks like things have been moved around since u were there, and a number of display items moved elsewhere, or just out of sight of my 40 min dash, and you had summer weather and didnt have to drive through a blizzard to get there!
