Popular Science has a pretty good article on this (http://www.popsci.com/popsci/auto/article/0,12543,354099,00.html).

yeah it's a bit one sided though, if formula one is about the cars, why is Michael Schumacher payed $32 million a year? From a European perspective it is the american motorraces where they just go round in circles which is boring. And lastly this guy surely went to see the san marino grand prix last year when schumacher dominated.

A new season has just started and I'm hoping the Ferraris won't be so dominant this year.

The best thing about F1 is that the first race is in Australia and it kicks of the V8 Supercars season.
Melbourne has had a dry Summer and the trees along the side of the track have dropped a lot of leaves causing a few dramas for the V8s as their air intake is being blocked. Hopefully it doesn't effect the main race tomorrow.

I´m of course a little biased but my favourite F1-driver is of course the Finn
Kimi Räikkönen, there is a Swedish driver now as well, Björn Wirdheim, although
he drive in one of these less impressive cars that has no chance of winning.

...although I prefer Rally and the Flying Finns that usually becomes
world champions (not last year though :( ). In comparison F1 is so
boring.

his car, a Peugeot 307

I like rally and GT2 racing more than F1, but its still amazing what engineers can do with cars (as well as what drivers can massage out of those cars.)

I don't. Forza Ferrari and Schumacher woot woot woot

He's only a test driver which means that he won't drive in any of the races unless one of the other drivers can't race. And I think and hope that Jaguar will improve.

Yes, it's highly interesting.

You get to see packs of cigarettes racing around, burning indescribable amounts of fuel. You also get to see those blue cans of Australian beer with big breasts at the grid.

And if you are really lucky, you'll see a huge collision between the packs of cigarettes right on front of an oil company logo.

no, more people in football so the money is spread arround a bit.

Schumacher get's payed $32 million a year. And the top teams spend more than £300 million pounds on their cars each season.

Oh well, i'm not sure if Ferrari is gonna get beaten in the near future. Having just checked out the grid for tomorrow thet're both on the front with a half second quicker time from the next guys, that happen to be Montoya and Button, good work from Jenson there.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Raikkonen can do, that guy has awesome talent and potential.

By the way, last time I checked Ferrari had a yearly budget of around a billion pounds with McLaren spending the next largest amount at around 300 million. That was two years ago though and im sure things have changed since then, though believe me, those budgets would only have gone up. I'll try find some info about their present budgets and post it.

edit- and one more thing, Schumacher's contract is 32million a year, that doesn't include his personal sponsorship, i don't think, so he probably rakes in another 20 / 30 million from that ... that's a lot of money to get for driving a fast car.
