Polish ministry of education sent oficial letter to school inspectorates signed by Vice minister J. Zielinski (Law and Justice). It warns about ecologists and anti-war activists. It contain instruction about upbring of kid in school age that usualy don't have "completly shaped moral beliefs". To create proper view of modern political and social events schools shoud close doors for" attractive pacifistic, anit-war and ecological slogans" Teachers and social activists are schocked by this statement. They see this as open propagation of militarism, warmongering and attempt to erase ecological awarness of youth. Soo far only school inspectorates in Gdansk, Poznan and Szczecin put this instruction in life and sent letters to schools headmasters. It also rised again concens about Law and Justice plans to create institute of Upbring. It is saw as a tool to create new generation of ultra catholic nationalists. Anti-war activists comment letter as a paranoid and "smelling like from Orwell book".

How likely is it that this Law & Order party will loose next elections? What kind of ratings do they have?

What, as opposed to the likes of PETA strolling in, indoctrinating the kids who are too young to know better and telling them their parents are muderers because they own a fur coat? Atleast the directive is to keep crap away, not keep the hippies away and say war is a-ok.

Most of our eco activist are very moderate at last ones that visits school. They promote trash segregation, use products from recycling etc. No one would invite such hardliners like PETA.

Will they lose? It is a very good question they keep floating mostly because they stole Populists electorate and due to support from radical catholic priests and silent support from large part of other priests. They are trying to gain control over prety much anything from Police throu Lawyers and Media to Army.

Well they would be "invited" to outside quite fast. We deal with such things quite fast and in hard way. Shools are one of places where usualy Police shows quite fast.

I REALLY hope you're being sarcastic with the "totalitarian commie state," because that was over 15 years ago.

As a friend of the ( original ) idea behind the EU, it upsets me to see
how the current polish government is endangering all the advances have
been made since Poland joined the EU.

For example by making purges in police, abw and border guard. Because they were politicaly incorrect aka not PiS supporters. Leting various politicians making statements that cause foregin investors to consider leaving to more politicaly stable countries. Threatning Balcerowicz who is seen as a person that has ruling government intrests in (I) and cares only about country economy. etc. etc.

I think what they are hoping to stop is the trend toward radicalisim...they are seeminly trying to insert some degree of temperance. AS we have seen, by the example of the other EU states, such radicalisim had diluted citizenship, destabilised the economy, threatened the business world, escaleted taxation, and propigated an out of control elitist legal system. I hope Poland is able to keep some of this crap in perspective as they develop into the future.

Well now! Just to put things into perspective, no Greens or Reds ever condemned the Katyn massacres. The farther away the peaceniks stay from schools, the better educated the future Poles would be.

Most US eco-activism started out moderate too. It has since devolved
into spiking trees to hurt loggers, creative "wetlands" interpretation,
physical assaults and gross vandalism. Be wary of the long-term agenda
of these nut cases. PETA goes so far as to deny people pets.
