I was thinking of buying the MAG 100rd mags for my m4, but I don't know how well they fit in my G&G metal body, or if they feed well... And how about the star 30rd?

I recommend the MAG's over the STAR lowcaps. Altho they are also plastic, its a lot more sturdy and solid. Also the sound when you bang the clip to something hard is more metallic. They feed perfectly and they also fit perfectly to at least CA, Marui, Systema and Guarder receivers, so I should think there's no problems using them with G&G either.
The star mags feed ok if you remember to silicone it now and then. Filling the mags is a bit rough. You can hardly fit 30 bb's in them and usually you'll end up having some 25 bb's to use per mag. They also fit all guns.
In a nutshell: If you don't fancy the realism given by 30 rnd magazines, go for MAG.

I don't think 30rd a clip is enough. 100 is the way to go. Does it really feed all 100 ok?

Well, i only had one missfeed when I fired the whole clip on full auto. Not once did I have two bb's come out at the same time.
And This is not a solid fact, but I believe that you can put more than 100 bb's in at least some of them. Roughly I'd say my top has been 120, and regardless no misfeeding has taken place.

i have the MAG mags and I love them, they are really good because you get the realism of reloading during a firefight so i like that too, but in quality they are so much better than the STAR mags

I use STARs for my AK and they have never failed me. Plus I don't feel bad for treating them like dirt because they only cost me $10 apiece. So I drop my mags in corners, in the dirt, in the bushes, etc.
The trick is to remember where I left them. :)

Don't you order your gear online? I always do, from China mostly. MAG's are around 50$ for 8 magazines. 100 bb's each. Very nice.

My package of 10 star caps arrived today. Only one magazine gets slightly stuck when loaded in the the rifle. But nothing to serious. The feeding is no problem either.
I bought these because there are low-caps-only skirmishes here in belgium nowadays. And as some others here, i have never even seen those MAG mags. So there wasn't any choice to make actually

If you guys want realisim just put 30 rounds into midcaps. Not that big of a deal.

That's what I recently started doing, well actually I load 34 so I can shoot 30 rounds. I load my pistol mags the same way, 15 rounds per mag. Makes the game a lot more challenging and it gives an extra satisfaction when killing those hicap hosers.

Yeah but sadly they won't fit on my Hurricane metal body and since I already had 10 locaps when I decided to play like this I didn't had to invest more money in mags.

I use MAG 100's in my G36C, good quality build, reliable and seem strong. Good price, well worth it.

Biggest problems with them;
*Too light. I would get them ASAP if I could open them up and get some fishing weights in there, but you open the mag, you ruin it.
*30 rounds? I seriously doubt that they will feed all of them. Granted, with 130 rounds I don't mind losing 5 or 6. But 5 rounds outta 30, is a LOT. Only if they could guarantee 30 rounds fed, I would get them.
Don't get me wrong, I have 12 GP Midcaps. Can't stand highcaps. But fact is, that airsoft is not accurate enough for 30 rounds, but that's been covered.
Overall? I think they are great value for money, especially when playing lowcaps-only sites/skirms. But for general play, I'd choose midcaps anyday. With 130 rounds and without spraying, you'll get to practise your reload often enough. With metal mags ;)

Just to let you knwo they do feed 30 rounds on most guns. While loading them using a BB loader you can fit 33-34 rounds in there, Star had this covered already. ;)

Well that's one problem solved, IF the spring doesn't break after using them like that for a while.

Almost every canadian players I know that use those mags will load them this way and I haven't heard of anyone having a problem with the spring tension. Anyway if you do have a mag that will break within a year it's not a big loss at all.

Ah well, I still think that with airsoft, if you pay little, you get little, and you often end up spending more money because of this. But it seems these sets are proving me wrong!

Im reluctant to tell you this, but I'm afraid I have to. We(me an mi pal) had major problems with the MAG mags in tonites games. 2 of my 8 mags did not feed whatsoever. You could actually see a few bb's in the mag that were loose and not pressed against the pin by a spring. So the spring must have been jammed in a turn or sumtin. It's prolly only a matter of adding some silicone to the mags now and then. And there's one more attribute one must appreciate in a cheap plastic mag, the MAG ones have a small opening in the bottom which allowes the spring to be pulled out for inspecting it for errors.

STAR's or MAG's? I had an M16A4 with a HurricanE reciever set, the STAR's worked flawlessly.

Star, my friend bought them tried them on his M4 Hurricane metal body and we tried it on mine. The mags will fit in place but they won't feed at all.
I talked with an airsoft gunsmith from around here and he told me that he saw the same thing on most Hurricane metal body. It seems like they are a few exceptions out there.

My HurricanE reciever set came with a new hopup, and that's what worked flawlessly with the STAR mags. Perhaps your's didn't come with a new hopup or something?

It could be that since I bougth the receiver used and I know the guy had it for a while so it was probably an older version. Anyway as I said I do have my 10 TM locaps that I load with 34 rounds so I'm good for now.
