Hello everyone, im afraid my first post wont be a contribution but rather a request. Search engines and searching this forum have provided no satisfactory results for pictures of UN Peackeepers so i ask you, the community if you could provide me with photos of this type.

The photos themselves don't have to be of any particular type, aka they can be merely walking down a street or firing a rifle, doesn't matter.

Thanks in advance

Most of these pics were from operation weapons harvest 2000. You can clearly see the amount of weapons available to people in bosnia and why it is a place where arms dealers thrive.

Here's a quickly patched up gallery, and all photos taken from various sources so nothing from my personal collections (what collections?)...

Yes, although the underlining text did say "Indian" in the site I'm a bit skeptical if they indeed are Indian due to that the soldier that is better featured in the photo does have rather different facial features than a normal "Indian" would.

Quite possibly they might've made a mistake in the describition or the man who's face can be seen the best on this photo is infact Indian and my eyesight is as good as a 80-year olds...

the whole of the north of india borders on to china and nepal, so what do you think indians from the north of the country look like?

the captain of the indian national football team for example:

Seems like a lot of you people are at doubt today, so I am going to post the exact text that shows under the picture on it's original site.

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen and his wife, Janet, pass through an honor cordon of U.S. troops at Task Force Able Sentry in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, on Dec. 24, 1997. Cohen and his wife are visiting U.S. troops stationed at the United Nations' base for the holidays. DoD photo by Sgt. James F. Thompson, U.S. Army.

This should answer your question, more or less

the captain of the indian national football team for example:

Well I pretty much _did say_ that I wouldn't really know of the matter that much so I put the "supposedly" tag to go with it.

What, don't tell me that I somehow offended you as well then?

Malaysians training Cambodians ??

Seems like you are a better expert when it comes to camouflage patterns than I am.

The site that I found it from did not say anything about their nationality, so I did not feel the need to start guessing it.

Well, I suppose that's something very vital to keep in mind if I ever get into a quarrel with you...

supposedly?

They are probably from an Indian Gurkha unit.
Half of the Gurkha regiments transfered to the British army, while the rest stayed with the Indian army after India gaining its independence in 1947.
(The Indian and British army in fact being treated as two separate entities by British government even during the days of the Raj.)

not necessarily, I think he is just an indian from the north in a normal regiment.

Not necessarily either, since we do not really know anything else about them besides that they are Indian.

So everything said is pure speculation until some facts are brought around the table.

Thanks for the great photos guys!

The pictures posted are exactly what i was looking for, tremendous pics.

special thanks to mustamato, AK-Lover, Alpha leader, Dalleer and last but certainly not least Glock for their pics.

Does anyone have photos of more recent peacekeeping operations, or peacekeepers in action from around... maybe 1995-present?

In John Parker's book The Gurkhas he states that there are 46 Gurkha Battalions in the indian Army and that the Indian Army employs over 120,000 people of Gurkha origins.
So there is every chance....
