We had a familyday so we thought we'll cheer em up with some action. Before the death of the volvo we had a show with three 122 and three CV9040B. We fired some MG3 and just had a laugh. It was good fun.

so cool , hehe . Have a technical question for you :
Let's say you fired a round now , and you want to switch firing Coax MG . Is it true you cannot start fire , until the new round is loaded ? And if so , why is that ? (at list that's what i understood from Swedish officer that i correspond with )

No it's like this: When you've fired a round from the main 120 mm gun the cannon automaticly goes down to somethin called "laddläge" thats the position where you load the gun, herehe gun is highly elevated and isnt stabilized. When the loader is done loading he presses fire and the gun goes down to be stabilized again.
Now you can start firing coax. This is done manually by the loader. The gunner can fire the coax but it very hard to maintain quincidens while moving. The result of the gunner firing while moving is very, very short bursts. So to be more efficient and to save time ond rule out any chance of the gunner chosing the wrong weapon on the next target, the firing is done by the loader.
hope this wasent all to complicated. If you have more questions im happy to answer them.

Right , right , offcorse , the gun is elevating . Here is a question . Who is elevating it , the loader ? And another question , how exactly the loader shoots the coax ??? I am not shure what that means . Can you explain again , please ?
Do you mean that on move , loader firing his own MG , and coax is fired only on stop ?

When the gunner fires a shoot with the main gun, it recoils, spits out the "hylsbotten"(dont know the english word) and goes up in "laddläge"loadingposition. This is all done automaticlly when the gunner fires. The gun maintains to be in its loadingposition until the loader presses fire, the gun is locked in its loadingposition.
The gun and the gunner sight is stabilized by gyros(if thats the word???)
When the gun isnt in loadingposition the gun follows the gunners primary sight. When the gun is in loadingposition the gunners sight is sort of "on its own" if you follow me.
The coax is fired while moving by the loader. Its a handle you just press forward. The handle is also connected to the gunner so that he can fire it.
the loader only uses his mg as close protection or to look cool =)
Hope this answers your questions. Its pretty hard for me to find all the english words for things and systems on my tank. But learn swedish and i'll explain it to you in a better way... =)
