Has anyone picked up Robin Moore's Hunting Saddam yet? I liked Hunting Bin Lade, but am hoping that a more comprehensive account of spec ops in Afghanistan and Iraq will come out. The nature of what they do will most likely mean this will not happen, but . . .

Jeezuz, Moore certainly knows how to churn out up to the minute books. Didn't really think The Hunt fo Bin Laden was as good as it could have been (ie the book is supposedly about US A-Teams in the 'stan but the cover has the poser Jack Idema on it). Still I'm interested in reading it for any hush hush info that the media didnt cover about Sepcial Ops exploits in Iraq..

Hmm I looked Robin's new book up on Amazon and not only did I find that but also several other books in Iraq. One is called "Special Operations In Iraq" by Mike Ryan. Another is "In The Company Of Soldiers: A Chronicle Of Combat" by Rick Atkinson.
"Boots on the Ground: A Month with the 82nd Airborne in the Battle for Iraq" by Karl Zinsmeister.
"Embedded: The Media At War in Iraq" by Bill Katovsky and Timothy Carlson.
There are about 3 or 4, possibly more, of nothing but picture books from the war in Iraq on there also. Look them up, pretty good stuff.

I just Finished Hunting for Bin Laden who is that jack idema anyway just some lone wolf Special Forces Operator or something.
I'm almost finished with this book. Its very good. It has accounts from 101st Screaming eagles, and from other infantry divisions that really show you what is going on there or what had really happened. It also begins with accounts from the 10th and 5th Special Forces group in Northern Iraq working with peshmerga kurds and SASR to kill mucho terrorists. Don't wanna give it all away. I highly reccomend it!!! ;)

Yeah I read the book too, and couldn't figure out who Idema was...I think it mentioned something about retired Green Beret- but it was way to vague to figure out his contribution to the story.
Can anyone in the know shed some light on this?
Thanks.
