Question: Why do official military photos which are on websites such as defenselink.mil army.mil navy.mil af.mil usmc.mil combatcamera.forces.gc.ca defence.gov.au news.yahoo.com DONT conceal the faces of military personell whereas other websites such as specwargear.com or some photos on this website DO conceal the faces of military personell?
I know the reason behind Photo ID Concealment- Some may try to indentify/harm those that are not concealed- But why doesn't official military websites conceal photos?
Hell, I find it hilarious how even gear collectors/airsofters such as those on militarymorons.com/specwargear.com/special-warfare.net conceal their IDs to prevent themselves from being harmed
BTW, Added poll "Just for the Hell of it"
I think it's a matter of personal preference. The guys on military morons are just goofing around and are making fun of the everything. There are a bunch of blurred out faces on the dod sites above that you mentioned actually. What's also interesting is that there were a bunch of special forces photos off the dod images server that aren't there anymore, and all the newer ones have their faces blurred now. I'm wondering if someone changed their mind over there.

LOL militarymorons goofing around? Hehe.. Seems to me like they'd also like the priviledge of photo ID concealment- Some may think airsofters are US Military soldiers

Interesting indeed- I guess Im sold on the idea of concealment then if the US Military is doing it---especially on real soldiers-- If I had an airsoft team, I want people to KNOW who we are unless my team says otherwise-- If I was in the US Army and brass recommended against it- So be it

well, for right now, I couldnt care less, Im not in any armed forces, and im not too worried about someone getting mad at me online and finding me from my picture online and killing me and my family with a chainsaw.... but it could happen.... lol.
however, if I were in the military, more specifically special forces, I would want it. the average grunt wont need a face blurred, but someone going deep into the **** to perform the most dangerous missionsin the war could find himself in a lot of trouble if someone by chance recognizes him from a picture hes seen on the news or tv and thus blows whatever covert mission hes on.

I airsoft, and all the airsofters who blur there face do it just because its a cool effect, and helps out that whole 'badass super secret special forces' look theyre trying to copy.
and militarymorons do it because, well why not!
Hey Adam, got any pictures of yourself in your Airsoft gear so we KNOW who you are?
Maybe some of the airsofters blur their faces because they are all pimple-faced or just plain ugly?

I dont have any airsoft gear. Im selling my airsoft guns. I'll start playing once I get US Citizenship, which is what I'll be concentrating 100% on achieving instead of "playing around"

Humorous yet untrue in this situation
