So, are these basically MPs attached to the 1st Armored Div.? Just curious since the caption says nothing about the specific MP unit they belong to. I'm really curious about this since I'm goin in as an MP.

Every division has an MP company organic to it. Other MP units can be attached as needed and might have the 1 AD armpatch too.

OK, thanks. I had a hunch that was basically the way it worked.

So you signed up to a trade that you don't even know how the structure of it is?

As if anybody knows 100% about anything they go into or do. Before I joined, I had seen units attached to others, but I was just curious about this particular situation.

Oh and by the way, Evan.....I live my life the way I choose to. So, **** off.

Why theaggressive behaviour? Steroids giving you a short temper?
I never once told you to do anything a certain way. So keep that crap to yourself.
I was merely pointing out that a question such as the one you had, for someone who is going into the army as an MP should know such a thing, as it will be your arse on the line.
It's usually customary for one to research such things before going into them so you will be prepared for it.

I really like the army's new digs. They look really intimidating, especially when they have those face masks on.

Of course I researched it. The point of my question wasn't, "Do MPs get attached to different units?" I was more questioning this particular instance.

Howie already knows about a million times more about the occupation he chose than the majority of guys goin' into the service straight out of high school. I wouldn't have expected him to know about assignment of MP's to units, his ass won't be on the line for that. Often times you'll sign up for one thing, and end up doing something completely different. The Army sends you where the Army needs more people. Sometimes you get to grunt and point in a general direction, and if lucky, you may go there.

EL: Back off and leave him alone. Go get a job with those 16,875 posts.

Hmmmmm... having another job. Now thats a good idea. It's hard enough juggling two jobs as it is and going to college.
Word of advice, I wasn't attacking Howie. I was making an observation and he took it as offence, and I attributed his reaction to steroid use.

If he's using steroids, he won't have to worry about you. He's gotta be in the shower with the guys later. Mocking about his "size" will bring him down. :)

How the hell do you make 16,800+ posts with a job?!

Ive been a member here for three years. One of those years was spent between highschool and college when I was living in NYC and unable to work as my Visa didn't allow me to work there. Legally ;)

I've been here for 3 years too. I guess I'm just not as involved.

Howie, did you get a choice of duty station?
