Question for you guys out there. Do the women where you work get preferencial treatment, or does it seem that way anyway?

My little scenario:

I work at a small GIS firm with only on average 10-15 employees. Before september they were all men. Then in sept a woman started that I work particularly close to. Even though I have been here 4 years, the boss man is constantly blowing smoke up her ass or asking for her advice or recommending her to someone else. Even the I.T guys treat her different. I asked for a program installed on my computer with the appropriate permissions bla, bla, bla. Never happened. She asked on my behalf and it was done within an hour. What the hell is that?

If you knew my boss as well, it may be a bit more surprising. He NEVER gives these kinda accolades/recommendations to anyone.

P.S - shes not that good looking, so rule that out...

Maybe she provides 'service' with a paper bag over her head? ;)

Perhaps.... rofl

Thats what a fellow employee were joking about. That some day we'd catch her crawling out from under a desk. Cant see it though.

Could be the novelty factor or she is just good with people, don't let it bother you.

Less to do with her and more to do with the stereotypical IT guy.

That CJ is a smart one. Also consider the possibility that she might have attributes that you could emulate. Maybe she is just a really nice person? I don't know. But don't assume it is because she is a woman. That's called sexism.
