Albanian Interior Minister Sokol Oldashi yesterday thanked Turkish police for the capture of an Albanian gang leader who was listed by Interpol on a Red Bulletin notice.
Police have detained the founder and leader of one of Albania's most notorious crime gangs in a raid on a house in Ankara. Alfred Shkurti, leader of the Banda Aldo Bare crime gang, was detained early Saturday following a tip that he was hiding in a house in Ankara's residential Batıkent district.
At a press conference yesterday, the Albanian interior minister said Albanian and Turkish police were in perfect cooperation in the capture of the gang leader, whom he said moved among Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey from time to time.
I would like to thank the Turkish Interior Ministry, police force and Interpol in Ankara as the operation [against the gang leader] was carried out successfully, Oldashi was quoted as saying.
The arrest of Shkurti represents an example of successful cooperation between the Albanian and Turkish police forces he added.
The Albanian minister said procedures for extradition of the gang leader, who was carrying a false passport, to Albania would soon start.
Shkurti's gang, operating out of Turkey, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Romania, trafficked drugs to Western Europe; Shkurti has been blamed for at least 15 murders.
In 2002, Shkurti was sentenced in absentia by an Albanian court to 20 years in prison for the murder of one person and is expected to face charges for the murder of at least another 15 people.
The Albanian was wanted on an international arrest warrant since 2000. He is believed to have been mainly hiding in Turkey for the past four years and narrowly escaped arrest in a raid in Istanbul two years ago, Hürriyet added.

Actually, the only possible translation for Zeus comes from the Albanian language, as it is the case for many other greek gods and godesses.
Ze (in albanian)- voice
therefore: Zeus - the one who has the voice, the power, who must be heard.
Just a curiosity.

How old are you? How much of your country's history have you learned at school? Those names derive FROM the name Zeus, not the other way round. They are not ancient greek names. I can't believe i am actually teaching a greek about his own history (that is assuming you are a greek). What do i know anyway, i am only an illiterate albanian gangster.

Unforunately for you Homer numerous times mentiones the terms Hellas and Hellenes like in B 681 – 685 and Β 527 - 530.
Pick up Homer and check it.

Is this a test or something?
Apollo actually comes from the hebrew word abbadon, meaning destroyer.
And this is sooo out of this thread.

Apollo has a hebrew origin????
That's not possible.
I read once about an article some years back about some mythological gods having origin from Illyria.
Some gods were Thracean like Ares and Dionysus and may be some had Persian origin.
But Apollo being Hebrew???
Not in one million years.

go to the pages and search for "abaddon", if you can't be bothered to read the whole page, like me.
I can't be bothered to search any more because i don't regard the internet as a very reliable source for ancient history.
Anyway, the general idea is that most greek gods were "borrowed" from other cultures, so don't be so surprised triggerhappy boy.

You think I don't know that?? The only Greek Gods are Poseidon (Neptune) and Dioskouroi.
Zeus and the others were from the East.
And Ancient Greek religion with the Hebrew one have many similarities (relation with nature).
Apollo actually comes from the hebrew word abbadon, meaning destroyer
The name Apollo might have been derived from a Pre-Hellenic compound Apo-ollon, likely related to an archaic verb Apo-ell- and literally meaning "he who elbows off", and thus "the Dispelling One"

Nothing proven yet... And don;t quote the Bible... it's been proven how inaccurate it is.

Apollo= A+πολλων The A is prevative. The one without polarity.
The name ABBADON means destroyer in Hebrew and it's mentioned in the Apokalypse along APOLLYON from the verb ΑΠΟΛΛΥΜΙ which means destroy. The prophet names the future antichrist and he says that in Hebrew his name is ABBADON and in Greek is APOLLYON.
They are not the same with Apollo.
About Hebrew religion and how Moses was not Jewish but an Egyptian priest who founded the Hebrew religion we had a good thread in the past.

Τhere are NOT Greek gods( from the Olympians) who came from East. The only one who MABY came from Persia and yet noone can estimate his first appearence is Dionisus who has many similarities with Mithra.

Probably you seem to forgot that Thrace participated in the Olympic games where strict rules were applied about the racial background of the participants.
The priests in Delphi were named Thracides ( Θρακιδες). The think was that there was not a joint state but cities who made colonies.
