exactly... since when airsofters have mortars? I'd bet those are US Special Forces Group soldiers helping peshmerga kurdish fighters in northern Iraq. The landscape looks right, weapons look right, peshmerga look right, even the bloody mortar looks right. Those are not airsofters.

Maybe this is somewhere in central asia... Uzbekistan,Kirgistan or somewhere close US have som troops now in this region also it might be Georgia as well US are traning their SF... It cannot be kurd's peshmerga since noone in that region (syria turkey riaq iran borderland) use russian alphabet (cyrylica & grażdanka(sp?)

***Airsofters don't carry MBITR incrypted radios. They haven't even been in use that long.

The guys in the first photo on the link are Airforce TAC-P's, I suspect, from the looks of them and their gear and the way they have it rigged. None of their gear has the "ground-in-dirt" look so if they're anywhere in these pics, they haven't been there long. The group photo is a mix of SF and AF dudes with a few faces that I can't figure out (I actually recognize one of the guys in the group photo at the airport, which is in a former Soviet republic by the way).
The post that said Northern Iraq for the background pics is in my opinion most likely. However, the guys in the pic that came with the post look awfully Afghani, they do not look Iraqi. Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmm???

Yes, I hadn't looked at the other pics when I posted. I think your right about them being Kurds. The mortar picture I have seen before now that I have looked at it.

Also, I take back what I said about the guys being Airforce TAC-P's. I have looked harder, they have the wrong boots (TAC-P's almost all wear either Bellvilles or their own high speed hiker like Lowa). However, I can't nail them as SF (the two guys in the first pic) They just don't fit. Things that make you go, HMMMMMMMMMM??

From what i've been reading, United States sent 900 Special Operations troops to Hungary, Georgia, Lativa, Ukraine Estonia, Slovenia, Slovakia and LITHUANIA; to help train their arm forces and help in the war against terrorism since Nov 2001.

This picture might be true and that some US SF from these countries were sent to Iraq to help the Kurds.

1. There's more than just Delta and Seals in the US Special forces. These are US Army Special Forces (used to be known as Green Berets), who DO use mortars.
2. You're a total dumbass. US SF don't have to be in uniform, THEY'RE SF! Hell, half the time in combat they're "out of uniform". And of course they're going to let someone come near them. What, you think they're going to shoot or yell at a little girl who is just walking by? Moron. And they are not armed because they are in a non-combat area, on their way to Iraq.
