New French battle dresses , 2/3 of the French land forces will be equipped with it before 2008!

Giat Industries is engaged(opened) in the program of the future FELIN fighter. This program aims at endowing the fighter off-loaded of a set of equipments which improve in a significant way his(her,its) operational efficiency. Studies were thus started and the first results show new possibilities to improve:

- The probability of infringement(achievement) on the fight,
- The deported aim,
- The possibility of reaching(affecting) a target hidden behind a shelter,
- The use of the weapon as the tool of navigation and catching of images, in the daytime and at night.
Giat Industries, associated to Thomson-CSF Texen and 6 other partners, participated in the realization of the demonstrator ECAD. In this project, Giat Industries supplies the following equipments:
- Distribution(casting) and management of the energy,
- The integration of the equipped weapon, the version derived of the FAMAS F1,
- The protection NBC of respiratory tracts with an evolution of the mask EPHESE.
A FAMAS was modified, conscript FAMAS FELIN is at present in the beginning of qualif

strangely, on tests for FELIN I 've seen on TV some years ago, the helmet really looked like a prototype of the land warrior :

Good stuff, but I honestly wouldn't count on it being in widespread issue by 2008. The US was planning to have Land Warrior as well as the OICW ready by around 2006, and as most of us know that isn't going to happen.
