And anything additional info would also be welcome, as all i know they were used in 1982 invasion of Lebanon and have been fitted with Israeli avionics..

Anyways what a coincidence that you (Uninen) asked for these pics, for I saw this link a few days ago on another forum that has two very good close up pics of the defenders in the IAF (plus a few other good IAF plane pics as well)

So you say you have books on the IAF defender, can I ask you to list them (a link would be nice as well) also I am not too familiar with this helicopter, can you provide some info on the Israeli avionics and add-ons that the IAF has put on the defender.

The book i will get later, maybe tomorrow.. anyhow what i recall the Rafel (or Elbit) made the optics and countermeasures suite for the Defender.. :P (bad memory..)

Wow thanks for remembering and resurrecting this thread to post those books here :D

I am sure the last book is pretty good (the first one probably as well), for although I haven’t read it and in fact I was very surprised to see it (I try to keep up with all of these books that are in print but somehow I have never seen that one before) I have read his other books and they are very good in general, especially the one he wrote on Israeli special forces for the same “power serious” back in 1993 and IMO that was an excellent book in English about our special forces (understand also that there aren’t that many books written in English on them and as such it could have been a crap job but I think he did an ok job on it).

Well to amend a bit, when I say excellent, I mean at least for that time that it was published, for A LOT has changed since then in terms of equipment, tactics and training improvements and other more advancements since 1993 when it was first published…….but still a good read.
