Tornado....

So we had a little excitement around these parts this afternoon. A tornado touched down at my mom's house. Thankfully it didn't hit her house... and no one was hurt.... I've included some photos....

This house is just down the road from Mom's house... it got their barn.... you can see hunks of tin in their trees....

It was driven into the ground.... it's part of the roof from her machine shed.

I've been here for 27 years, I don't think I can count the hurrricanes I've seen.....I do love to see the morons who get drunk for the hurricane venture out into the streets, and do brilliant things like ride their skateboard in 80 mph wind, or decide to take a cruise in the car and try to not get hit with a downed power line........almost makes hurricanes worth itp-)

Hurricanes have always spared my side of the river. They always seem to wreck havoc just across the river in Quebec though. Which is funny because it's only about 15minutes away.

I remember my first hurricane - Charlie in '04. I thought it was funny that everyone was freaking out about it, yet later that night it was me in the bathtub, shielding my dog with my body and holding a mattress over us when the house started shaking like an epileptic. :cantbeli:

Any idea of ****ing around in the storm was gone with that.

Wow, nice pics...glad nobody was hurt. That's some scary stuff - very unpredictable. I hope her house didn't shift off it's foundation..looks like they had some pretty good wind right there. The chunk of wood in the siding reminded me of this guy who was hurt in the tornado my wife & I went thru in 1991 @ McConnell AFB. He had just come back from Iraq, and was caught out in the open on base when our F5 tornado came through - he held onto a fence post while the wind and flying crud ripped up all his clothes. When it was over, he had a big @ss piece of wood like that right through his calf - yikes.

Too dark to see anything last night for us. The counties next to us had a few people killed. Sad. No real damage where I'm at.
