Guys and Girls.

After seating down, and looking at the mess we created here. I started doing some searching on how this bull**** started.

I came here, this place ROCKS. I saw so many different militaries of the world, and seriously it was fun. I posted lots of personal collection here as well, and have an open door to keep getting more RARE stuff that we like.

I think the problems came from Political side of the photos. When I posted photos of our soldiers in Chechnya, I got bombarded by folks from all over the world saying that Russians are assholes, and kill civilians.

I ignored it once.


I then posted photos of our soldiers in the base, training and doing their everyday routines. I got bombarded with the same folks on how Russians look so poor, nasty and their camo is out of order. Some childish rediculous things.

I ignored it twice

I posted photos of Russian weapons, and gear. I got bombarded on how old, and rusted, and ak vs m16 this, and T72vsM1 that. ANd how Russians can't shoot, and Fins kicked their ass in the war.

I ignored it for the third time

I saw a topic where Russian army was being discriminated as A WHOLE!!!!! It was something to do with Chechnya, and executions of Russian Soldiers. That same week I lost a good friend in a Subway Attack in Moscow.

Those who understand human grief, and now what it feels like when you see a photo of body parts in the wrecked train, and you think that there is your friend there inside. He was a civilian, not a soldier. But some **** on the board here, takes Russia as a WHOLE and calls us names, and tells us that every Russian soldier deserves to get his throat slit.

I asked admins, and others to calm down, and do something about it. Nothing was done, so I felt like leaving, and almost did. You know like a little kid, but at the time I seriously didn't want to stay.

Instead, i was peppered with them rotten egs and apples like some say, when I asked everyone WHAT THE **** IS YOUR PROBLEM? Suddenly in my responce I recieved answers like Stalin this, Putin that, Grozny attrocities, and Russian army SUCKS.

No more ignoring, and I took out the ****in sword. Now I did say some ****ed up things, and I feel bad about them now. Believe me!

But please understand why, and don't tell me I had no RIGHT!

It is getting old

What I sad towards Finland, Poland, Sweden, Norway I'll take it back. ANd want to appologice. It was in the heat of hate and madness about my friend who was killed.

I just would like to ask everyone to stop ****ting on eachother, and get back to our hobby. The only way I think we can live in peace, is if we DON'T TOUCH THE POLITICAL SIDE of the photos, and stories.

Lets not accuse entire countries and continents.

I also feel bad for saying that I want to kill all the muslims. That was also said during the period of the subway tragedy. I take my words back.

So MAY I ASK YOU ALL TO JOIN ME ?

I will no more. I am running several hundred photographs of Afgh. through Trigger's prying eyes and will soon post them for your enjoyment. I would love not to hear "hey, those aren't SF" or "that guys Delta, why's his picture in here".
I myself held the hand of a new friend while he took his last and helped bandage what was left of where the hand of another friend use to be. I could go absolutely ape s..t on Muslims in here, but that would be like blaming my German mother for the Holocaust. Don’t make sense!

I don't classify people specifically. I take people for what they're worth on an individual basis, and give everyone the same amount of rope to hang themselves with as the next person. It's only "first appearances" that hold any classification or perception. A quick introduction normally blasts any stereotype right out of the room.

Pics aren't to spand on them but to discuss them in polite maner. Some of us esspecialy not native speakers should be more patient when reacting to other's posts. I think that most of the flames was plain effect of cascade missunderstundings... I don't see nothing wrong in politic disscusion primed by pics, even on hard and touchy topics. If discutants know how to behave...tey have GREEN LIGHT from me...

And I can also assure that to my knowledge I have not participated in critising Russia for what they do in Chechnya, or if their equipment looks like this or that and is ****ty.

Those who have, I'm sure either never have served in any military-service or are in such an age group that they does not know if their horny or just need a pee.

The reason I reacted was that things just started to go a little bit over the top. And I also have reacted against M1A2U when it seemed like he hit puberty some days ago.

And I don't even wanna get started with Sixgun Symphony.

As you can't understand, neither can I why everything has to be turned in to politics. Specially our Israeli brothers in here know all about that.

I know that I've been feeding the fire sometimes, but belive me; a long time ago I came to the conclusion that it did not help anything. What kind of politic enigma can we solve in here anyway?

As a neighbour of your country, and serving with the Russians in Kosovo AND being in and out of the Norwegian armed forces for the last 19 years, I can assure you that I never have learned to look down, underestimate or in anyway think of your army as less valuable than my "side".

So in the spirit of the new dawn, I have no problems with walking over to the side that you have chalked up and say no to the country-bashing and politication of this forum.

PermskiiOMON you know I am Lithuanian and you know what happend to my couintry before 1990 although when I was a kid I used to hear bad tales about Russia and what they did to my country... Thats the same pople are doing today they are sapeking before thinking and you cannot blame them for that becasue they've been brought up this way. Even i used to thin this way because I was made to think that way, but when in reality the truth is all the way around.

I used to be against the war in Chechnya,,,,,but since 9/11 I understand the russian authorities . You remember the pipe bombs in the russian skyscrapers in the end of the 90s ? where 100 of people died?

Chechnay is a part of russia and should remain a part of russia .
And I think the author of this thread s pcitures of the russian military that he posted , is great .

Yep... this is discusion forum I am always open on discusion even on the hardest topic but it must be cultural exchange of arguments... I know that some topic are very delicate but it is still discussion forum... I prefer to exchange arguments not insults and as long as sides in discusion use first not second I am open to discussion. I have my own view on chechenya and so far I did not changed my mind but of course if you want to provide arguments to convince me you are welcome. I can tolerate criticizm but not insults and as long as discusion is cultural...

Just on a similar note, been posting on other boards and any time I post anything about the US, be it about politics, military, general life or just plain personal life, I get bombarded by people saying how screwed up, backward, bad and vile the US is and whatnot else.

What I'm saying, I couldn't agree with you more!

Was a military brat for 22 years and enjoy seeing these pics and talking to people, mostly soldiers and former soldiers from all over the world.

Soldiers from all over the world very much speak the same language and politics should not be brought in if one is just posting pics or realting stories. Or especially when it comes to massacres, be it in Moscow, Madrid, London, Tokyo, New York etc...

My two cents!

Persmki, your one of the most consistently great contributors to this website. If you were to leave it just wouldnt be the same anymore. I hope you always realize that the vast majority of us like you and enjoy your posts and take your posts seriously.

I think the situation with this site (and in life) is this: The people who wish you ill are always going to be more vocal than the people who are content with you and dont have any issue with you. Thats how it always is. It is often the happy people who like you that are the quietest about things and it is often those who are trying to start a fight with you or insult you who are going to be the most vocal about it........

I think this post is great. I hope you see all the support you have here Persmki....

Unfortunately I think it can only last so long and very soon the people who wish you trouble are going to overpower the voices of those who wish you well....

I think you have to always keep in mind through it that the VAST MAJORITY of people enjoy your posts and think of you as one of the best members of the site and someone who not only contributes often but who also contributes unique pictures and information that NOBODY ELSE has the means to post!!!! You always respond in a timely and intelligent manner and you rarely stoop to the level of those who attack you.....

Please continue to be an active member of this website!!! Always know that although we may not be as loud as your enemies who attack you all the time, our silent support will always be more powerful then thier childishly loud complaining....Only if you fail to realize this can they win and you, along with everyone meaningful on this forum, lose......
