Kosheen are pretty ordinary, though a good story about them is their label farmed off a Kosheen track for Tech Itch to remix under the delusion that Tech Itch makes "dance friendly" music.
Turns out Tech Itch, ripped the song apart, whacked in a massive over-driven bass line and distorted break beat drums.
The label promptly rejected the track "We can't release this ****!" - so Tech Itch funded the release himself as a secret white label.
It's an awesome remix too.

I find this one quite romantic eehmmm sort of
Its about a Norwegian merc,,anyone heard it??
Roland was a warrior from the Land of the Midnight Sun
With a Thompson gun for hire, fighting to be done
The deal was made in Denmark on a dark and stormy day
So he set out for Biafra to join the bloody fray
Through sixty-six and seven they fought the Congo war
Fingers on their triggers, knee-deep in gore
For days and nights they battled the Bantu to their knees
They killed to earn their living and to help out the Congolese
Roland the Thompson gunner...
His comrades fought beside him - Van Owen and the rest
But of all the Thompson gunners Roland was the best
So the CIA decided they wanted Roland dead
That son-of-a-bitch Van Owen blew off Roland's head
Roland the headless Thompson gunner (Time, time, time
For another peaceful war
Norway's bravest son But time stands still for Roland
'Til he evens up the score)
They can still see his headless body stalking through the night
In the muzzle flash of Roland's Thompson gun
In the muzzle flash of Roland's Thompson gun
Roland searched the continent for the man who'd done him in
He found him in Mombassa in a barroom drinking gin
Roland aimed his Thompson gun - he didn't say a word
But he blew Van Owen's body from there to Johannesburg
Roland the headless Thompson gunner...
The eternal Thompson gunner, still wandering through the night
Now it's ten years later but he still keeps up the fight
In Ireland, in Lebanon, in Palestine and Berkeley
Patty Hearst heard the burst of Roland's Thompson gun
And bought it

Lamb - Gorecki
It's just fantastic for listening to while lieing in eachother's arms + the lyrics are wonderfull too.
If I should die this very moment
I wouldn't fear
For I've never known completeness
Like being here
Wrapped in the warmth of you
Loving every breath of you
Still my heart this moment
Or it might burst
Could we stay right here
Until the end of time until the earth stops turning
Wanna love you until the seas run dry
I've found the one I've waited for
All this time I've loved you
And never known your face
All this time I've missed you
And searched this human race
Here is true peace
Here my heart knows calm
Safe in your soul
Bathed in your sighs
Wanna stay right here
Until the end of time
'Til the earth stops turning
Gonna love you until the seas run dry
I've found the one I've waited for
The one I've waited for
All I've known
All I've done
All I've felt was leading to this
All I've known
All I've done
All I've felt was leading to this
Wanna stay right here
'Til the end of time 'till the earth stops turning
I'm gonna love you till the seas run dry
I've found the one I've waited for
The one I've waited for
The one I've waited for
Wanna stay right here
'Til the end of time 'till the earth stops turning
I'm gonna love you till the seas run dry

I could have a mansion that is higher than the trees,
I could have all the gifts I want and never ask please.
I could fly to Paris, oh, it's at my beck and call,
Why do I go through life with nothing at all?
But when I dream, I dream of you.
Maybe someday you will come true.
I can be the singer or the clown in every room,
I can even call someone to take me to the moon,
I can put my makeup on and drive the men insane,
I can go to bed alone and never know his name.
But when I dream, I dream of you. Maybe someday you will come true.
But when I dream, I dream of you. Maybe someday you will come true.

I'm terrible with titles, but there was this country tune several years ago that went something like: "If you get there before I do...."
I like that one.

I have several...
I am in Winter Mode, so they tend be, not so much sad, as..mellow...Summer time gets a whole different set. :)
Bjork - Hidden Place
Everything But the Girl - Walking Wounded
Portishead - It Could Be Sweet
The entire Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
The The - (I forget the name fo the song...has Sinead Oconner in it...off the Mnd Bomb album)
And don't ask me why...Joy Division - Atmosphere...I heard it in 1990 or 89...I forget when exactly, and always thought it fit the mood. I also know I am in a VERY small minority on this one.

I love Miles Davis. I got The Essential Miles Davis for Christmas, and I've been wearing it out. Nice choices, Durandal. :)

Rock on!
Yeah, I have to say, possibly with the exception of his later 70s experimetnal acid jazz stuff, Miles Davis rocks...
Does the "Essential" album have Night In Tunisia?
I have started listening to a fair amount of old blues, not romantic stuff (at least yet), but talk about kicking ass...
Mississippi Sheiks
Loadbelly
Lionel Hampton
Lil Johnson
Steve Earl (for somethiing a bit more contemporary)...

No... it doesn't have Night in Tunisia, and I wish it did. I like that one.
It has: Disc One
Now's the time, Jeru, Complusion, Tempus Fugit, Walkin', 'Round Midnight, Bye Bye Blackbird, New Rhumba, Generique, Summertime, So What, The Pan Piper and Someday my Prince Will Come
Disc Two
My Funny Valentine, E.S.P., Nefertiti, Petis Machins (little stuff), Miles Runs The Voodoo Down, Little Church, Black Satin, Jean Pierre, Time After Time and Portia
excellent mini retrospective :D
