I don't find a board dedicate to military movie, so I post it here. I want to start with discussing movie that contains SWAT operations.
Of course S.W.A.T is the most popular one. But I heard another low-budget movie is better considering the accuracy of SWAT tactics, if not gears.
The name is Rogue Force, or Renegade Force, or Counterforce, starring Robert Patric, the T1000 in Terminator 2. Several scenes involve FBI HRT fighting local SWATs.
But I didn't find many comments on this movie. It was said the movie went directly to VHS market. I don't believe it. Anybody here know this movie? What's your opnion?
And please post your recommendation on movies with SWAT here.

I am not a LEO but I imagine SWAT the movie has to make real SWAT members pull their hair out for all the silliness and inaccuracies.
The only thing worse was the US marshalls in The Fugitive....you'd think write/producer/drector would pick up a encyclopedia on occasion.

The room clearing, by SWAT in Seven is pretty well done. Also Brad Pitt's gun handling, what little there is, is relly good.
There is a B-movie called Truth or Consequenses New Mexico, and at the end a bunch of bad guys have a huge shoot out just as the SWAT arrives. When the word is given to "go Loud", it's over in seconds. I liked the way that was filmed. The team got into place, with overwhelmingly superior firepower, and then ended the fight with speed and prescision.
There are also a couple of Hong Kong movies called the "somthing" Option, about SDU. The movies are cheese, but it looks like sombody was trying to get the tactics right. Unsuccessful, but you can see the attempt.

Way of the Gun - Not a SWAT movie, but the director's brother is a SEAL who choreographed the gun handling and CQB.

Although Swat included some good actors , I was very disappointed by the movie, it was too much crap.
Remember the Police convoy getting ambushed ??? that was the only part of the movie that was good ,,,but they didn t focuse on that street baatle long becuase our heros were waiting for the helicopter .
The beginig of the movie was ok and again the end was bad .

I liked Rogue Force, saw it on HBO quite a few times. The begining scene where they take down the **** guy was pretty good, accurate fire with complete surprise I thought was pretty cool.
Not technically SWAT but in "Final Option" (1982), the SAS classic takedown of the terrorists at Princess Gate has to rank as one of the best depictions of room clearing in a film, especially when one considers the tactics weren't that well known at the time.

"The Final Option" is a fantastic movie. (Not to be confused with the Hong-Kong film of the same name). It's also found under the title "He Who Dares, Wins."
Best SWAT-type action I've seen on film, ever. Bar none.
IMO the movie SWAT was a terrible dissapointment. The first couple of situations were cool, but once the escort got underway, it was all about Colin Farrel and his hair....someone forgot that SWAT is a team.

SWAT guys are mostly portrayed as assholes that can't wait to kill some poor misguided ****head that's really the hero and worth saving. Not the fun loving hedgehog looking studs they really are.

I think the whole movie was crap - from the opening scenes of the "do it alone" Rambo - swat moves man who after being told to stand down decides he would approach and charge in......for **** sakes - he was sitting in an airvent you'd think he would be smart enough to realize, perhaps there are some things in the "big picture" I am not aware of
to the forward rolls -
to the THROWING down your primary weapon when transitioning to secondary.
to Running on a live fire range as it is supposed to be a simulation where the guy fires empty his primary THROWS it down then jogs to the next shooting point THEN draws his secondary (way to be out of the fight, unless you planned on yelling obscenities if a bad guy popped up).
From charging rooms and leaving unknowns unsecured, unsearched while you both divert your attention elsewhere leaving your back exposed to a person that could have a gun
to stopping and allowing the prisoner to have a conversation with the media.
For godsake they are running in the tunnels and that little guy Farrell (sp?) has only a pistol and the dude behind him has a Shotgun, pistol with an MP5 slung. Id' stop and say "hop on in front Hero and pass me a long-gun while you at it."
I'm no LEO but I couldn't take the movie. I worked out, while the lady watched - and it still sucked ass.

Something I read from newspaper:
Day on golf course turns into blast as cameras roll
By KEN WOOD
Staff Writer
September 11, 1997
OLMSTED TOWNSHIP -- Elizabeth Maslen of Rocky River was looking forward to a leisurely round of golf at The Links when she spotted a plume of thick, black smoke rising from a point near the first tee.
As Maslen drove closer to the John Road course on Friday morning, she realized it wasn't an emergency that was unfolding before her.
It was only a movie.
The crew shooting the action film "Counterforce" blew up a late-model Lincoln Continental in the course's driveway while dozens of curious spectators and golfers watched. The spectacular explosion didn't quite go as planned -- the car failed to flip over following the blast -- but no mulligans were permitted in this scene.
"It's all very intriguing," Maslen said as she watched Olmsted Township firefighters hose down the charred sedan. "I hope the golf club is getting a lot of money out of it."
Chris McGrath of Olmsted Falls, a course employee who spent much of the morning shuttling golfers around the shoot, said workers found out a couple of weeks ago that the filming would be done at The Links.
"I think it's pretty neat," he said. "I've never seen anything like it. You don't get to see a car blown up very often."
"Counterforce" is being shot at locations throughout Greater Cleveland, including Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Filming was done last Thursday and Friday at the Olmsted Township course.
The film, which is being produced by Shaker Heights native Alan Schechter, follows the exploits of FBI Special Agent Matt Cooper, played by Michael Rooker ("Days of Thunder," "Cliffhanger," "JFK". Cooper is assigned to track down a group of vigilantes who are massacring the city's most notorious criminals.
"Counterforce" is scheduled to be released sometime next spring.
Five police officers in the Southwest Enforcement Bureau's Special Weapons and Tactics team -- John Williams and Bruce Merwin of Berea, Ted Makrinos of Olmsted Township, Mark Stepanovich of Strongsville and Mike Savioli of Independence -- have roles in the film as members of an elite hostage-rescue team.
"It's a lot easier to shoot this with a real SWAT guys -- we already know what to do," Williams said.
SWAT team members from Cleveland, Euclid and the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority have also been involved in the filming. And the officers get plenty of practice -- one scene at the airport was shot about 20 times, Williams said.
"It gets tiring," he said.
Rooker chatted with Williams, Makrinos and several other law enforcement officers on Friday while the crew herded spectators away from the area where the car would be blown up. The last-minute safety precautions included instructions from a crew member that onlookers should turn and walk slowly away from the car "if something goes wrong.
"And you will know if something goes wrong," the crew member said.
Something almost did. After the car exploded and spectators applauded, a film crew employee who had approached the still-burning vehicle was quickly driven back by a 10-foot-long horizontal burst of flames.
He was not injured.
After the fire was extinguished, a crew member looked at the burned-out car and quipped, "When I said you guys could borrow my Lincoln, I had no idea."
Most of the filming at The Links took place at or around the first tee, which is located at the entrance to the course. There was an unusual side benefit for golfers: The tee area had to be temporarily relocated about 80 yards down the fairway, giving players a welcome advantage on the par-5, 525-yard hole.
Of course, some players were ready to sacrifice a day on the course for a chance to appear on the big screen. Golfer Linda Phillips of Avon Lake wondered if the producers were looking for extras for the film.
"Once they see my (golf) swing, they'll want me," she said with a laugh.

That is one of my all time favorite movies.
Also include "The Negotiator" with Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey.
"Ocean's Eleven" has a brief SWAT scene at the end, pretty funny too.
I know of a few others but I cant think of which ones at the moment lol.
