We can't ask them not to, we can't be affraid of them, we can't sit and live in terror.
We need to show them that if they bring it, we will level them again, and again, and again, and again.
There are more of us than them!

Weve gotten lucky to be honest. I read a report that cited DHS officials saying that some 37 terrorist attacks on the US have been prevented since 9-11. Quite impressive. Hopefully this one will be prevented as well.

The government told us that the power blackout was due to poor maintenance. They also told us that TWA was just an accident too.
I think the government might be lying to prevent panic which could have disastrous consequences to the economy.

The military should drop all scruples, hunt down these militants, butcher them and fill their corpses with pork intestines.
Let that be a lesson to all Muslim militants.
On note, I have nothing against Muslims personally. Just have a bone to pick with the more radical ones that like killing civilians because they think they'll get a "72 year old virgin" after they're dead. Those are the ones that make me sick to my stomach.

Suppose you are near where terrorists have set off a bomb and you see mass casualties.
How many here are up on their CPR and first-aid skills?
Do you keep a first-aid kit in your home? How about your automobile?

First Aid kit isn't going to do a terrible amount of good in the event of a dirty bomb.
No offense to anyone, but this thread has some rather racist sounding replies. People who want to go and "bomb the **** out of the towel heads" should understand that such a policy of indiscriminate retaliation would ultimately lead to the destruction of the United States at the hands of the international community. It also goes against everything this country actually stands for - freedom, liberty, JUSTICE, rights of the accused, etc.
I get sick of seeing so many people blatantly trample the righteous virtues that this nation was founded on AND DO SO IN THE NAME of patriotism. I don't understand how people can ignore the documents penned by the founders of the United States which explicitly state how important it is to protect the rights of the less fortunate.
Sixgun Symphony, you're paranoid. You honestly believe the Navy blue up that TWA flight? Or that terrorists did, perhaps? What good is terrorism if you don't claim responsibility? Then people just think it's an accident and it's meaningless...and I'd like to see you come up with a plausible explanation for why the Navy would blast a TWA commercial jet out of the sky.

Agreed and well put, many people will/and have died to protect our freedom so we have the luxury of being free, in speech and in the right to chose what we do and how we live.
I'd like to see you come up with a plausible explanation for why the Navy would blast a TWA commercial jet out of the sky.
On 9-11 many planes were being "watched" and tracked for fear that they too may have been hi-jacked by terrorists. Sometimes its a sick world we live in, and unfortuneatly if it was the case that they did have confirmation that a plane was "taken over" and about to be used as a big ass cruise missle they would shoot it down....

the destruction of the United States at the hands of the international community.
I get the impression that you wish for that to happen.
People like you loathe patriotism. You certainly do not respect our rights when you trample on our 1st and 2nd Amendment Rights with campus PC speech codes and gun control laws.
And don't you go putting words into my mouth. I made it clear that the government would try to cover up a terrorist attack as being an accident when they can. The reason for this is to stop the terorists from causing terrror.
If people believe that TWA 800 had merely crashed, then no one is afraid to fly. But if they get news that terrorists were shooting down airliners, then alot of people will be afraid to fly. That will cause disruptions to the economy.
Ditto for the power blackout on the east coast. If the terrorists did knock it out, then the government would want to pass it off as being poor maintenance or some kind of accident. If people believe that, then the terrorists will have failed to cause terror in the people affected by the blackout.

I disagree. I think the government would want the people to know about the black out because it would add legitimacy to their "war against terror". However I don't think a black out - which caused no deaths and certainly didn't terrify the population of the East Coast - would be planned by terrorists. I do understand why the armed forces would want to keep secret the destruction of a civilian aircraft, regardless of the reason, but I don't feel that the TWA flight was intentionally destroyed. Most likely it WAS an accident. Your misanthropy is selectively placed, Sixgun. The government is untrustworthy, democrats are stupid by nature, yet somehow a conspiracy that would involve 50 or more people can be kept a secret? The major problem with conspiracy theories is that to keep such huge plots from leaking would be an incredible and unlikely feat.
And above all else, I don't want to see the United States dismembered - the thought terrifies me. I love this country and everything it stands for, however it doesn't stand for the gratuitous waging of war. It's in America's best interest to use soft power whenever possible and in the case of terrorism...well, how much safer are we really today?
It's hard to say because the facts we'd need to decide are kept private by the government, however I don't feel that we're all that safer. Terrorism is an extremely powerful tool and one that empowers single individuals to do a great deal of damage. It's a very difficult thing to protect against.

This war is a just war.
That libeals disagree is because they are submissives by nature. This arguement is reflected in the gun control debate as Liberals can't comprehend righteous self defense against aggressors. Thus guns are "bad".

Your right on both accounts, I'm so full of **** my eyes are brown, and yes you should never underestimate your enemy, these people desire death, their suicidal so they have nothing left to lose. With the constant threats they make their intentions clear, the situation with the Palestinian terrorist not only do they want their state they want the destruction of Israel, and thats not going to happen, if Israel doesn't act that sends a message to the terrorist saying you can kill jews and they wont do anything about it, but if they act against terrorism, then they are condemned by the world for protecting themselves, its a no win situation.

If the terrorists shot down TWA 800 and knocked out the power to the east coast, the government may wish to keep it a secret so as to keep them from succeeding in causing terror in the population.
