Funny small towns in Texas.

There's Post, Texas. Founded by the maker of Post Cereals, originally a (in his time) new age health vacation spot.

Then there's Denison, Texas. Site of a border dispute between Texas and Oklahoma. In 1919, Texas Rangers drove an Oklahoma oil well testing crew from the disputed banks of the Red River. The crew said it was in Oklahoma, the Rangers said they were in Texas. The governor of Oklahoma approached the disputed border in a tank, and was backed down by a lone Texas Ranger. Many stories of "one riot, one Ranger" in Texas' history.

But the pub is iconic. In fact, they should rename Birdsville to The Birdsville Pub. Anyway, from what I can remember that is pretty much all there is. And not many birds unless you count emus, who are generally skeletons after getting their feet wrapped up in a barbed wire fence. Which then attracts lots of eagles. So then they do get birds. Interesting.

Yeah, that happened in Lancaster County. Leola is about 30 miles away from my house.
