Assuming this is genuine - it is totally outrageous! I would like to see what gave those G.I.s the right to act like that.

OTT - yes, 100% - not a good example of international relations from the US Army. No doubt it is not an isolated occurance, but very bad all the same.

Is this the way to win the battle for hearts and minds? But stealing wood is certainly a serious offense, if there is one...

Remeber...You are only seeing a "snippet" of a much larger version...It could've been edited, or who knows what. Just like the vid of the Marine shooting the "supposedly unarmed" Iraqi. Anyway, G.I.'s are not cops!

What could the guy have done to merit that? Anything serious they would have arrested him. These GIs are just having fun at the expense of this guys livelyhood and the success of op Iraqi freedom.

What I was meaning is that you are only seeing a minute out of an hour...That is all.

the higher up the order comes from the more they should be able to see the hearts and minds aspect of acts like this.

Way over the top. I saw this on TV a few months back. They had no right to crush that man's car. That car was probably his life. Sucks when you don't have your supervisor near or a bad one with you.

Looters are traditionally shot on sight.

So these guys got off easy.

Well the taxi driver (if he is indeed a taxi driver ) won't be using his car to steal anything again, that's for sure...

Completely over the top for stealing "wood".

I want to remind that stolen wood also was destroyed in this spectacular act of justice...

You know, the did something like this at Waco, Texas...

Drove a M2 right over a reporter's car...

Bad deal...and completely out of line.

As far as this goes, I do not have enough information other than the clip to say this is a bad thing or a good thing...

If the Iraqi is telling the truth, I have to, as rare as it might be, agree with Mocking Loudly...

If i stole in this country and was caught, the fine would probably be more than what that piece of sh!t care is worth !

I wonder what the punishment under sadam was for looting was ?
