The Swedish Air Force Air Show 2006 is held at Skaraborg Wing, F7 Såtenäs. The Air Force base will be open for everyone.

they cancelled our airshow this year.... they couldnt get the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds to perform... and usually when they cant get a team to perform it means minimal attendance, and therefore they make very little money on it.

I'm gonna try to make it. Don't know if I can though, seeing as how I had a hard time convincing my dad to let me go to the military convention in Stockholm.

What do you mean? A video cam and an external audio recorder? You have a pic and do you know how much something like that would cost?

No I mean digital photo's (still) with seperate recorded audio during the airshow. It would make for a great slide-show. With videocams most often all we get to see is small shaky dots in the distance with the camera guy's annoying kid screaming into the mike in some god aweful accent... but it's ok.. I won't bitch about it. Teamm is going there. Should be nice.

Don't everyone have some kind of audio recorder these days ? in phone or mp3 player.

I read an interview with a General, I forget his name, they have already budgeted 400 million/year for new strategic airlift. he also said that A400M wouldn't be able to be delivered until 2011-2013 due to the waiting list.

So I'm starting to think we will lease C-17 with option to buy...

Gripen at Romanian International Air Show

Gripen new generation fighter aircraft will soon be back in Romania to take part in the Romanian International Air Show during the last weekend in July.

Four Gripen C/D, two single and two twin seaters, from the Swedish Air Force will take part in the flying and the static displays.

For the first time, the Swedish Air Force will be displaying the latest NATO compatible, Gripen C/D version in Romania. The aircraft are from the F 17 Wing, based in Ronneby on the south-east cost of Sweden. They are also an integral part of the Swedish Rapid Reaction Force (SwAFRAP) and as such are used to participate in international exercises alongside air forces from many nations. The F 17 Wing has already been seen in action this summer when they displayed Gripen at an air show in Denmark.

Two of the Gripen aircraft will be on static display so that visitors to the show can get a close look at the most modern fighter operation in Europe today. Swedish Air Force personnel will be on hand to answer questions in English but there will be plenty of useful information written in Romanian. The Gripen air display will be performed by Captain Martin Ramsin, F17’s designated display pilot for the past four years and who was previously a display pilot for the Saab 37 Viggen fighter.

The Romanian International Air Show, which is being held at the Mihail Kogălniceanu airport near Constanta on the Black sea coast, is one of the largest air shows in the region. It was a big success four years ago, when the Gripen team was also present. This time, the air show will be celebrating the centennial aniversary of the Romanian aviation pioneer Traian Vuia. Public days for the air show are July 29-30.
