What country is the KC-10 from? It looks like Italy, but many other countries have red and green flags.[/url]

100 times - "I must improve my aircraft recognition"

That KC-10 is Timmy the Tristar and it belongs to the Royal Air Force, and the flag is red/white/bue. Normally the F/A-18 can't refuel from a KC-10 because of the USAF's boom-type refuelling system whereas the USN uses the same probe and drogue system developed in Britain, and therefore USN a/c can refuel from our tankers - did so right through GW1 & 2.

N.B. USN/RAF a/c can only refuel from USAF tankers when these are fitted with a boom adaptor ending in a drogue basket.

Just to clarify, those pictures are from a Marine aviator. Which is basically the same thing as the USN, only better. ;) I kid I kid
