Hello all, new member here.
I'm looking for photos (or links to picture sources) of military swimmers, divers, light boats (such as RIBs, kayaks, canoes) and the like from any country or time period; rescue, demolition, specops, amphibious attack, etc. Also any info on current diving equipment and other UW gear is very much needed.
For my Finnish countrymen and my beloved Swedish cousins: I've been through everything on the respective official mil-sites. Anything new and unusual, plus additional info, would be greatly appreciated. Former Sov-bloc, too. Anyone know if Russians use the ubiquitous Draeger rebreather too? Seems like every SEAL and his aunt wears it.
And finally, are there any divers present, recreational, commercial or military?
Loadsa questions there. Sorry about that.

That's the funkiest rebreather I've seen yet....anyone know anything about it?
http://dboy.cpgl.net/other/SEALshow/sealshow22.jpg
A couple of things stand out:
1.) funky little round redundant O2 bottles I've never seen before
2.) Looks a lot like land-based emergency O2 kits used for firefighters, miners, and such that I HAVE seen before.

Since oxygen concentrations above about 21% become increasingly toxic the deeper you go, its probably a container for helium or some other inert, harmless gas.

The rebreather posted in a closed circuit, electronically monitored rebreather in current use by SEAL and EOD forces.
The Frogs primarily use the Mk-15 (for SDV work) and Navy EOD primarily uses the Mk-16 for MCM operations. The difference between the two are marginal.
By the way, it's a pain in the ass to maintain.
Link to US EOD tech diving the Mk-16.

I forgot our SOLID allies down under. Australian CDT also dives the MK-16 among other rigs.
I have tons of personal photos but I am not giong to "suscribe" to a spam ceneter like photobucket. Any other ideas?

Splendid! Keep them coming!
Grendel, what's with the white RB? Training only? Or used during winter (right, in Oz...)

You might try asking Hood, the chief around here. He might give you an album under the user-submitted section. Send him a PM or mail: webmaster@militaryphotos.net

I don't have a clue, mate. It obviously has nothing to do with camouflage. So I'm guessing its a "safety" thing - so the diver is visible to his diving buddy and/or so he's less likely to be run over by watercraft while submerged.

Do you mean the grey REBREATHER?
If so It's grey to reduce the amount of heat absorbed by the rig while it sits in the dive boat waiting to be used. (This is real life not Hollywood).
As stated earlier the rig is electronically montitored and prolonged heat craps ot the batteries ...among other things.
By the way, when used in a MCM capacity the mine doesn't care what color your rig is.

Now when you said it, yes, is it grey. Makes sense. You just sorta expect everything to be black.
No yellow octopus there, though.
