Update on Nepal

Can anyone tell me what happened in Nepal? I now there's been massive protests recently, pictures of it have been in the daily pix section for like, the past 2 weeks. So I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the situation is and what the recent events were.

The king has given up his power to the parliament, people are celebrating in the streets. Of course, the maoists aren't happy, and urge people to keep protesting. They just want to replace one autocracy with another.
