Our third ANZAC Day in London came and went but this year my daughter was doing a reading at the main service which was held in Westminster Abbey (much to my delight!). Unfortunately pictures arent allowed during the service so you will just have to do with pictures from the service at the Cenotaph earlier in the morning.
Maybe next year Ill get up early enough to go down and cover the Dawn Service?

Some of the veterans marching (and wheeling) on to the parade ground.

Chief of the General Staff, Sir Michael David Jackson (wearing the Red Beret of the Parachute Regiment). In front of Sir Michael is Admiral Sir Jonathon Band, First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff. Last year the Chief of the Defence Staff, General Sir Michael Walker, also attended the service.

The Foreign Minister of New Zealand, Winston Peters. He is one of those guys that you either love or hate (I think he's great as he doesnt mince his words and isnt afraid to put the smack down on opposition MP's if they get in his way!)
Actually...about 14 years ago while attending a Junior Commanders course in Trentham, Wellington, we went out on the town and I ran in to Winston in one of the more dodgy bars and the bugger was surrounded by hotties! Here you can tell he recognises me from that first meeting of ours! :D

A couple of Chelsea Pensioners on parade.

The day was a day of rememberance for all those that have passed on in the service of their country. Both the old...

And the young were there to pay their respects.
By the time I got home from work last night it was really late and checking the BBC website I noticed they didnt have any coverage of ANZAC Day what so ever! Id like to send them pics but I just dont have the opportunity to take the photos, get home, process and then send them through on the same day!
