Ok, it's my time to rant. They come into our country and are too damn lazy to learn the language and feel that they don't have to pay taxes. Oh, that's because they're here ILLEGALLY. They want all of the advantages of living in the US, but don't want to go about it the right way. First of all, if are here in this country illegally, GET THE F**K OUT! If you are in this country with a green card, welcome. It's the damn illegal hispanics who are chapping my arse. I have to deal with them all of the time in the Emergency Room. It's pissing our medical dollars down the drain. No wonder health care costs are through the damn roof. Then to top it all off, they want to take the only thing truly American, OUR National Anthem and make it Spanish. Tough sh*t. It's ours, leave it the hell alone. If you don't like it, get the hell out of our country.

Ok, this is going to get people pissed at me. I don't care. I'm tired of dealing with illegal immigrants.

this post is rude and offensive and not very political correct.

is what some pot smoking hippy liberal feel-goody cocktard would say.

I say we pay them to build a 40 foot wall along the border. There, we give the ones that are already here a job, and it keeps new ones from comming. Its brilliant.

While I think the National Anthem in Spanish is abhorrent, likewise waving Mexican/Guatemalan/Polish/Irish/whatever flags on their marches, I have no problem with these people. At least they work, unlike a lot of the lazy ****s we've got around here. Doesn't particularly matter to me if they're legal or illegal - if our immigration system wasn't so dorked up in the first place it wouldn't be an issue.

Just posting to say that I approve of the OP's username, not to mention the sentiment expressed in his post.

Of course, this is just the type of reaction the folks who support this type of thing want us to have. That way they can point their finger and call us racists. Lovely how that works, hey? Anything (and anyone) anti-"immigration" (I love how they completely avoid the use of "illegal" now) is "racist".

I agree with the topics general opinion

Here in France, some people want to change our anthem because its too violent...

The national anthem is like the flag, its a symbol and shouldnt be touched IN - ANY - WAY

If they want them understand 'the star spangled banner' why dont they give translations in writing, or english-spanish dictionaries

Morons...

Well not to nitpick dude but the guy who made the Spanish version was British. And your high number of illegal immigrants also has a lot to do with your rediculously low number of green cards (only 50 000 a year IIRC, and Mexicans might actually be unable to get one right now).

To Anacreon in Heav'n,Where he sat in full glee,A few Sons of HarmonySent a petitionThat he their InspirerAnd Patron would be;When this answer arrivedFrom the Jolly Old Grecian:"Voice, Fiddle, and Flute,No longer be mute,I'll lend you my nameAnd inspire you to boot, Chorus: And besides I'll instruct you,Like me, to intwineThe Myrtle of VenusWith Bacchus's Vine." II. The news through OlympusImmediately flew; When Old Thunder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jupiter_%28god%29) pretendedTo give himself airs."If these Mortals are sufferedTheir scheme to pursue,The devil a Goddess,Will stay above stairs.Hark, already they cry,In transports of joy,'Away to the SonsOf Anacreon we'll fly, Chorus: And there with good fellows,We'll learn to intwineThe Myrtle of VenusWith Bacchus' Vine. III. "The Yellow-Haired God (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo)And his nine fusty Maids (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muse)From Helicon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helicon)'s banksWill incontinent flee,Idalia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Ida) will boastBut of tenantless shades,And the bi-forked hill (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pelion)A mere desert will be.My Thunder no fear on't,Shall soon do its errand,And dam'me I'll swingThe Ringleaders I warrant. Apollo rose up,And said, "Pry'thee ne'er quarrel,Good King of the Gods,With My Vot'ries below:Your Thunder is useless"--Then showing his laurel,Cry'd "Sic evitabileFulmen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning), you know! Then over each head,My laurels I'll spread,So my sons from your CrackersNo mischief shall dread, Chorus: While, snug in their clubroom,They jovially twineThe Myrtle of VenusWith Bacchus's Vine." V. Next Momus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Momus) got upWith his risible Phiz (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physiognomy)And swore with ApolloHe'd cheerfully join --"The full tide of HarmonyStill shall be his,But the Song, and the Catch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Round),And the Laugh shall be mine. Then, Jove, be not jealousOf these honest fellows."Cry'd Jove, "We relent,Since the truth you now tell us: Chorus: And swear by Old Styx (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Styx),That they long shall intwineThe Myrtle of VenusWith Bacchus's Vine." VI. Ye Sons of Anacreon,Then join hand in hand;Preserve Unanimity,Friendship, and Love!'Tis yours to supportWhat's so happily plann'd;You've the sanction of Gods,And the Fiat (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decree) of Jove. While thus we agree,Our toast let it be:"May our Club flourish Happy,United, and Free! The original words to the tune, much better! ;)
For those not in the know;

"To Anacreon in Heaven" was the official song of the Anacreontic Society (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anacreontic_Society), a club of amateur musicians in London (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London) who gathered regularly to perform concerts. These barristers, doctors, and other professional men named their club after the Greek (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Greece) court poet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poet) Anacreon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anacreon_%28poet%29) (6th century BC), whose poems, "anacreontics", were used to entertain patrons in Teos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teos) and Athens (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athens). His songs often celebrated women, wine, and entertaining, and today can be considered eroticism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eroticism).
The connection with Anacreon, along with the "drinking" nature of the lyrics, have caused many people to label "To Anacreon in Heaven" as a drinking song. In all probability some drinking did occur at Society meetings, but the primary purpose of the Society (and its song) was to promote an interest in music.

The melody, if not the original lyrics, became well-known after Francis Scott Key (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Scott_Key), an attorney (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attorney), wrote In Defense of Fort McHenry while detained on a British (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom) ship during the night of September 13 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_13), 1814 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1814) as the British forces bombarded the American (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_of_America) fort. Key most likely wrote the poem with Stafford's tune in mind. He had written an earlier poem to the same meter scheme. Later retitled The Star-Spangled Banner (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Star-Spangled_Banner), Key's words with Stafford's music became a well-known and recognized patriotic song throughout the United States and was officially designated as the U.S. national anthem in 1931

Half the capitalist economy is based on as-good-as-slavery! If you'd kick them all out, it would collapse.

And don't yell around "they're stealing our jobs", because they arent, they're accepting offered jobs from rich POS-Americanas who want to become richer POS-Americanas. Free market, oh yay.

x2.

WHen you go to another country, it is your place to try and blend into society the best you can- by overcomming language barriers and what not. It is not up to the people that already live there to try and adapt to your society.

When i go to mexico i speak spanish, so why the hell cant they take the time to learn a little english when they come here...

I have no problem if they want to come here and work or get an education, but when they want to come here and tell me how i should live in my own country, and when they come here to leech off of welfare and healthcare, then they need to gtfo.

There are a lot of immigration problems, but you have to consider that a large proportion of border states ( like California's) agricultural production and industry is built upon the shoulders of immigrants who actually want to the crappy ass jobs noby else in the US wants to do.

as for the illegals..I say we declare a jihad on their ass.

You need them, but they are also a scapegoat for more complicated changes in society and the economy. You'll just have to find a ways to cope with this ambiguity, because they are here to stay, unless you wake up tomorrow and decide driving a taxi or working in a 7-11 is good enough for you.
