The North Face athelete Dean Karnazes is going to attempt to run 50 Marathons, in 50 states, in 50 consecutive days starting on September 17th.
As a runner and trainer I think this amazing. I know a lot of you folks out there know a lot of military personnel who have probably done some impressive endurance runs and expeditions. Any stories?

Does he detail what he plans on doing to maintain himself? I'd link to know how many calories he plans on eating every day.

I am just wondering how his joints are going to hold up. Thats a lot of impact. His electrolyte level will be tough to keep up as well.

It's amazing how some of these guys do 100k endurance runs in the dead heat of the Sierra Nevada mountain ranges too. Trail running is huge in the SW US.
I have never been to NM but I couldnt imagine doing 26.2m in that heat

My friend's dad runs the the 100 mile marathon up to Pike's Peak every year. I can't imagine even running that much, much less 1310 MILES in 50 consecutive days.
