Yesterday, nearly 50 participants of the Gumball 3000 rally (http://www.gumball-3000.com/rally/) were stopped by Autobahn-police in my hometown Würzburg. In today's issue of our local newspaper they wrote that 1/4th of them had to quit the rally. Some pics, an article from our papers online-issue, 2 videos.

You just don't appreciate the finer things in life. Such as a finely aged cheese, a nice glass of port and a recording of Schuberts unfinished symphony.

The Gumball is cool, but it's definitely a rich man's (or sons of rich men) sport.

I'd love to just fly through a country and not care how many times I got pulled over or what it would do to my insurance.

allow me to help

from wiki "A classic example of a hypocritical act is to denounce another for carrying out some action while carrying out the same action oneself."

you accuse many people of doing something that you sir sure do a lot.

pardon the off topic - in offtopic, I shall rest my case, and wont bother your busy life. You should get busy, I'm sure more people out there want to know about fine qualities of life.

So who am I accusing about what? And what is it that I am accusing them of that somehow puts me in the position of being a hypocrite?
Wait, that may be too much for yuo to understand. Let me tell it to you in sign language.

It's become quite sissified compared to what it used to be. All the fancy cars, cameras - it's more of a fashion shoot now.

My brother participated 2 times (2004, 2005). But already 2005 it was more of a Show-trip... Lots of bystanders etc.

And yeah, its a rally, not a race... If they called it race they would get lots of problems + Problems with insurance etc.

A bunch of them lost their licenses in Belgium, and thats a good thing.

Because its illegal and when you are catched by Police the Race is over for you, thats the fun of it.
