Just found this on ARFcom,Has anyone ever noticed the Bible verse on their ACOG? (http://ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=280124&page=1)
There are references to Biblical text on the Trijicons, it sucks finding this out now, as I would to have loved to known what was on my Reflex II when I owned it.

Yeah I read about that recently, but I didn't know there were that many different verses on all the different optics. I thought it was all one. That really is cool, even for a non-religious person.

Why should this be a bible vers, and not just pfff... the time the acog got its serial number, or the latest football game,....
didnt read the whole ar15 topic, but I dont think there had been an official proof to this, am I right?

if you check the verses, they all refer to light.

Page 3 on the thread over at ARFcom, Trijicon confirmed that Mr Bindon used to put scripture text references on his optics, so they carried on the tradition after his death.

With reference to verses like this though, I would think it was a given,

Trijicon TA11F

ACOG3.5X35MT5:16
"In the same way, let your light so shine before other, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven."

Reflex II

REFLEX1X242COR4:6
"For it is the God who said, 'Let your light shine out of darkness' who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in Jesus Christ."

What about Ezekiel 25:17

Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children.

And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you".

I'm guessing "Thou shalt not kill" isn't one of them.

Don't you mean, "thou shalt not murder", after all that is the correct translation?

you did not miss a good religious education but some one else did. I was going to respond to the thread on Somalia, "eye for a eye"... another misnomer....... and greatly misused to jutisfy evil intent.

Literally, it is a "Eye under a Eye" has to do with civil damages..........

Not to take away from the original subject of this thread but he is right. The idea of an eye for an eye originally came out of an idea to create a more fair system. Imagine if it was an arm leg and eye for an eye instead of an eye for an eye type program. Of course we have come up with more fair systems or what are considered fairer by society. But over all the idea for the eye for an eye system came out of an unequal punishment system and was used to try and create a fairer system, so in its self it is not evil but it is used by evil men to justify evil just like other things and the same is for when people try to use things to make themselves above others.

End of Intellectual rant and back to the original subject of the thread which is that the fact that Trijicon does this is awesome.

It makes sense if you ignore the new testament, wich quite a lot of people seem to do these days. p-)

38 You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.
39 But I say to you, Do not resist the evil man [who injures you]; but if anyone strikes you on the right jaw or cheek, turn to him the other one too.
40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your undershirt (tunic), let him have your coat also.
41 And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two [miles].
42 Give to him who keeps on begging from you, and do not turn away from him who would borrow [at interest] from you.
43 You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy;
44 But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

You current owners should onto your current ACOGs because they might kinda end up as collector item? I saw on the CNN today that Trijicon's stopping the inscription of the verses after the DoD said to stop.

Either way, I thought it was cool.

If you play the verse backwards through the optic sight does it say that Paul is dead?

ACOGs without the bible verse will be the new "black buckles" for airsofters. Expect a massive resell value in 3-6 years.

Just a nod to the deceased founder who was a devote Christian. I don't see why anyone would be offended since it's just a biblical citation of letters and numbers until you actually crack open and Bible to look up the citation and read it.
