Is it just me or do his donations conflict with each other? I know business people donate to individuals from both parties in Congress who will help their industry, but donating to the "KEEP OUR [REPUBLICAN] MAJORITY PAC" and the "BUILDING A [DEMOCRATIC] MAJORITY PAC" does not really work.

It is just a computer game to him, like Age of Empires?

Politics is pretty much tame on the MS campus. You can get speakers and guests from either parties that visit the campus so you get a good mix.No one party holds sway.

I always thought MS was in bed with the Democratic Party like Apple and Google, especially with its HQ around Seattle. How's your new job Red?

But you gotta remember that a company of that magnitude represents capitalism at it's best...something that irks hardcore left-wingers.

I'd heard that until recently, Gates was apolitical & didn't give any money to either R's or D's. I also heard speculation suggesting that his status of world's richest guy coupled with the fact that he gave no donations to either party was the reason why the government went after MS on antitrust grounds. And lo and behold, now he's making his extortion payments.

Exactly. It doesn't matter what party he supports as much as the people he supports. I'm a little irked, though, that someone can support a candidate from another district or state. I mean, he's giving to Virginian and Nevadan Senators when he lives in Washington.

I don't have any sources to paste but I've read that he donates rediculous amounts of money to charity. I was happy to hear that.

Yeah, he does. He is funding the effort to eradicate Malaria, for example.
