View Full Version : Scandinavians in Egypt in attack on Islam
Three swedish males along with two norwegian males all dressed up as muslim pilgrims and marched around a mermaid statue while citing the pilgrim prayer and shouting out calls to the muslim's allah. An upset mob tried to stop them before the police arrived. The pranksters were arrested by the religious police for islamic blasphemy.

Gotta side with the locals on this one. If you go to another country
you MUST obey their laws. You have no right as a visiting foreign
national to flout the law just because you disagree with it.
These immature youth went there to stir up trouble.

Not really. Remember the Indian woman who killed her baby to "get out the evil spirits?" She killed a baby (in the UK, I think it was) and what happened to her? All these guys are doing is being ignorant but-whoa-can't have that. Kill a baby/Islamic blasphemy...yeah, that makes sense.

Drunken Scandinavians reciting a muslim prayer in Arabic or English language ? Somehow I find that kind of hard to believe... the story is largely based on info from a Egyptian paper so heh.

Normally I would agree with that but bearing in mind how arabs behave in this country I really don't care.

Oh, by no means am I defending this woman's actions. If the harboring
country didn't see fit to prosecute this woman that is an issue to take
up with local or national authorities.
There is a difference between ignorant and rebellious, especially in or
on foreign territory.

I agree with you, I was just noting how one country has no tolerence (which isn't always a bad thing) for breaking the law and another has way too much.
