I am intrigued...

Why do the victims of the terrorist attacks in Madrid merit a 3 minute silence, whilst the victims of two world wars and numerous other conflicts only merit two minutes.

Don't get me wrong, I have every sympathy with the victims, their families and friends, I just don't see why they merit a greater respect?

Cause it happened the other day.....

They should get way less repect but they don't

just the way people are today.

Why not standarize? I think in Poland everyone gets one minute, but can be wrong ofcoze...

And why don't the 10000 s of children of the world who die from starvation get a few minutes either? Slower and more painful death more often then being blown to bits.

OK, then let's all just STFU. That might be a nice change of pace around here.

Mmm here in Spain almost all places have had 1 min. silence.

But I agree with you, should be standarized.

( And all terrorist killed  )

I could have done, but I was silent - just intrigued as to why 3 minutes and not the usual two.

I think it was a one-off. I doubt next year we will be silent for 3 mins for the victims of the attacks in Spain. I hope we don't have them for anyone else either but I am afraid we will.

Don't you think that’s a tad pedantic?
People just died, let them have 3mins.

yeah in my school there was a minute of silence on monday for the spanish (understandbly)
But there was no mention of a tragedy when bombs exploded in moscow, Irael, Turkey, or Iraq.
