I have started to look for a new pack, and remember seeing one that was able to carry an ar-15 or similar rifle to the side of it. Anyone know what this is? It was some type of MOLLE pack im pretty sure

I just use the two straps on top of the flap on my military issue rucksack. They are cheap.

Not carrying your weapon at the ready? Beat your face. ;)

You don't have to have some high-speed, uber cool pack to attach your rifle to it. You can always jury-rig your rifle to an existing pack. Improvise, it'll save you $200;-)

Eberlestock(.com) may have what you're looking for.

They have both hunting and military packs that are designed to allow for the stowage of rifles.

Thanks everyone, I think I'l take Ezekiel's advise and just use a couple straps to do it. I havn't taken a look at eberlestock yet, so i'll do that asap. The only reason i'm not carrying my m4 at the ready is because I use that as my varmint gun while hunting, and need my .300 Win in my hands in case I spot that elk.

I believe this is what you might be looking for though others have posted good ideas too. This isn’t a pack though but is used in conjunction with a pack.

Tinkle60 posted the exact type i was looking for. However, the 299 dollar price tag doesn't quite interest me, so i'll be looking for something a bit cheaper. Thanks to everyone who replied, all the packs were really good finds

You could sew something similar together for hardly anything at all. A little nylon fabric, some elastic and add the straps and buckles for what $20? Not too difficult.

Yeah, no $hit. I have a straight up non-mil spec Dana pack that I got for back packing several years ago.

My AR, or better, the Winchester '94 straps on the side, securely with just a but of creativity and an extra nylon strap and strap clip (.85 USD total cost).

Best think is that it looks like its a pro job.

Maybe I'll do it up and post a pic.

I don't know how Dana rates today, but they were among the best pack builders in the country. I don't think a person can go arong with one. Excellent choice. I have a few Gregorys. small to too big.

This is what I have and the straps on the top flap works just fine. I never had any problems with a weapon slipping out or anything like that.

Please post a photo, if possible.

I've got a daypack I'd like to configure for hunting and will probably sew on a rifle attachment point.
