Hello! I'm new and this is my very first post! On another thread, there was a post, via BBC link, about the UK just now paying up on it's WW 2 debt to the USA. I do recall that in France, Gen. de Gaulle insisted that France's war debt to the US be repaid, with interest.
Does anyone know when (in the 1960s?) this happened?

Instead they attempted to give us Gerhard Depardieu, so on second thought maybe that whole "Freedom Fries" thing wasn't a bad idea.
