Higres link (http://www.mil.ee/~fotek/gallery/pildid/album141/abq.jpg)Hmm... then this is the second East European M14 modernization. Lithuanians also rebuilt theirs M14 to the M14L1 standard.

There is number of fire arms tru out the history converted to diffirent calibres so M14 firing something else than .308 wouldnt be anything special, but the Estonians havent converted the calibre to anything else as the .308 is a NATO standard and our little brothers are hell bend to being the perfect members...

I wonder how much those modified Latvian and Lithuanian M14s weight? Did Lithuanian short stock save any weight?

According to the stats,it weights 5.9kg with optics and stalks,+1.4kg with nightvission scope(damn way to big). In general-not very successfull gun. The buttstock is really uncomfy, espp for lefthanded, barrel can't handle any dirt, sand etc.(e.a. old M14 problem) cause it's so long(why didn't they shortened it,or smth?only because of the accuracy?). A real puss-blonde to cary in the battlefield, esspec knowing that some other modifications of M14 are way more successfull. There were plans to arm one platoon in a batalion with this M14L1.(80% of the platoon with this stuff,rest-Barrets etc.kind of "toys") Jaegers used it,didn't like it,future unknown/cloudy. I wonder what's the situation with estonian M14?

Thanks!
Heavy... I wonder how come those new polymer and aluminum stocks arent any good for the weight?
They didnt shorten the barrel for two reasons: to save high muzzle velocity and because just cutting it might have caused problems with weapons functioning - time when pressure acts against the piston would drastically decreace. It would rather take buying new shorter barrels with proper changes in gas mechanism, i.e. enlargerd gas hole.

Damnn! i havent seen that stuff, in latvian forces! maybee there is i just havent seen yet becouse its fifth month in this sand box! but i think our command as always say No, we dont need it! do we have some freakin snipers? we have! ok we think about that! we are waiting new weapones (G-36) for almost 2 years and they always say next year theyll be here, just wait a litle bit! ****! but stock looks realy good, fired with M-14, good and accurate weapon!
