I have a few questions
1) How many Infantry Div. are in the Army? How many to a Div. (15,000-20,000 right?) and what ones are what (Light, Mech, Arbn)
2) How many Armored Div.? What makes up one?
Thanks, Dennis

There are ten divisions in the active Army.
1st Infantry (mostly in Germany) Big Red One
2nd Infantry (mostly in ROK) Indian
3rd Infantry Rock of the Marne (my dad was brigade commander and then chief of staff when I was born in Wurzburg, Germany, back in '69)
4th Infantry Ivy
10th Mountain (light infantry)
25th Infantry
82nd Airborne All-American
101st Airborne (Air Assault) Screaming Eagles
1st Cavalry
1st Armored Old Ironsides
All of these units could be considered "armored" (except for 10th, 82nd and 101st) because they use Bradleys and M1's. The 10th, 82nd and 101st are into helicopters and jumping out of planes and stuff.

The three U.S. Army Regiments I indicated are all Armored Cavalry.
The three Brigades are already indicated.
The 10th Mountain, 25th Infantry Div. are both Light Infantry.
The 1st, 3rd, and 4th Infantry Divisions are Mechanized Infantry.
2nd Infantry...I believe this division has Strykers now, right? If so, I guess that would make them mechanized.
The 82nd is the only division-sized Airborne unit.
The 101st is the only Air Assault unit, although it has very small elements that can jump (Pathfinders, ya know that good stuff)
Hope this helps

Now what the difference between Armored & Cavalry Divisions is the Cav more of a scout thing?
Why only 1 Armored Div?
How many many Tanks (M1A1) does the Army have? Anyone know?

There really is no difference between the armored, heavy inf and cavalry divisions these days. They have either armor-heavy (tank battalions outnumber mech inf battalions) brigades, or inf-heavy. The names of the divisions tend to be more historical rather than descriptive of their make-ups.
The divisions may have cavalry battalions or regiments as part of their make-up -- usually these are used as scouts but are often just another unit that can be "plugged and played" as the situation warrants.
I have no idea how many tanks the Army has. Take a look at this table of equipment to see how units are comprised.

Right. 3 Active Divisions (4th is reserve.) for the USMC. Click link for organizational chart:
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/agency/usmc/index.html
And for the Army:
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/agency/army/index.html
Note: As for tanks, the USMC has ~350 tanks. That's less tanks in the US Army 3rd Infantry Division.
During the First Gulf War, ~ 1,850 M1A1 tanks were deployed. Of that, the USMC only possessed 16 Abrams as most USMC tank units were equiped with the M60 series still.
