LAND had cummberbund, maritime does not. FR uses the CIRAS kit with a LAND vest.

There is a FSBE kit, not a FSBE vest, technically the CIRAS is part of the FSBE II kit. The first FSBE is called the AAV, its made by pointblanck

The Maritime is easier to ditch, you know in case your drowning. Just tug the handle on front and it "disasembles itself".

Actually both are quick release. both version are now standard issue for SOCOM and also Marine.

I run a land version. I have two handle I can tug on to release in case I am under water.

The difference is how the vest setup, one you can use the side flap to open the vest and get out, as you can see from the Maritime pic above.

the land has only one flap which is directly in front.

Force/ MEU DAPs are issued an entire assault kit, about 2-3 flight bags, which allows for more selection/ combinations. For example you can use the CIRAS (Land) in conjunction with a set of PACA concealable or a plate carrier and PACA or any ther combo's. PM ICE/ PM Force (MARCORSYSCOM) review and change every so often to do what they can...hell, things have changed once or twice since the war kicked off.

You are right about things changing, but CIRAS is a plate carrier and soft aromor carrier. that is what is so nice about it.

Some have even gone from/included the option from the CIRAS to an Eagle Plate carrier and PACA concealable. I can say it would be nice from my point of view, especially when I'm doing a huge cache or exploiting a site. I can ditch the plates to increase mobility and still retain some protection. Beats killing yourself wearing all your sh*t and spending a day and a half setting up a disposal on a cache.
