A gun-wielding burglar threatened to abduct two children after forcing his way into their grandmother's house.

The man threatened to take the two children, aged six and seven, if the woman did not give him her bag but she set off an alarm and he fled.

Although nobody was injured, police said the family were left "extremely shaken up" by the incident in the Baylis area of Slough, Berkshire.

Officers are still hunting the man after Friday night's break-in.

He called at the house in Birley Road at about 2145 BST and asked the woman, who is in her late 50s, if "Kelly" was there.

As she told him no one of that name lived there, he barged past her into the house and demanded her bag.

Det Con Stuart Ritchie said: "The burglar did not steal anything, or physically harm anyone, but this woman and her two young grandchildren were understandably extremely shaken up by the experience.

"The poor lady is now very jumpy every time the doorbell goes."

Not possible..she must be lying...doesn't she know guns are illegal in UK? Police must get tired of these "false" burglar armed with a gun reports.

There, fixed it for you.Your so wrong again why just this week I saw some chick on the cover of Target Sports with a revolver and they are now selling Free pistols, derringers are also back on the menu for humane killing.
