My NPS buddy was attached to Recon Bn for OIF. The book may be interesting but probably overly dramatic - the author used to be the editor of Hustler magazine so take it for what it's worth.

yeah my friend said he tried to stay clear of this guy just because he seemed a little out there. read the rolling stone articles and he said they were kind of true but with a little extra drama - especially hyping the officer/enlisted conflict
