Is the scale a little off on this one. If they put anymore weapon system on it, it would fall over...

seriously how do they expect attack something with all that weaponary and not being attacked back? While atleast a torso and a head is exposed to enemy fire by each crew member. Maybe they will try to outride the bullets.

The size is what's funny. All of the vehicles you mentioned are grown up scale.

Its not like georgia is the richest country in the world, they do with what they have. Why the hell are you making fun of it? Are you profesional military men? Have you had any experience with this vehicle? It probably isnt a full assault vehicle, its SF type, a hit and run...who knows...

Well I'm pretty sure that instead of using this sad vehicle they could have bought some old/semi old Russian ones, and cheap. I mean anything armored must be better than this. But I think they are too proud and besides "they are with US now" :) Only problem, they can't afford US stuff.

I think its the Georgian version of the Seal dune buggy. Probably meant for the same type of work.

Looks more like IDF Storm jeep:

Just that storm costs about ten times the price of the georgian vehicle.

Reminds me of an RSOV. Which has 0 armor as well. If its meant as a weapons platform to support light fighters, then it looks like it would satisfy that role. If its meant for MOUT, I don't think it will do so hot.

But the lack of armor complaint is a legit one. The Rangers say the same thing about the RSOV.

I have nothing against Georgians, but this is a sad looking jeep. The people in it could get killed before they even get off a shot...

Even this jeep looks more rugged. Yeah it's Daisy Dukes Jeep

Agreed. I mean look at it. The only thing that is missing is a bullseye. One person with an AK is enough to kill all 3 guys in there.

Actually I was thinking that the Georgians vehicle looks like a cross between a sand rail, and a Jeep. One of the things about the Old M-151 was that the crew could get it out of any situation they found themselves in, being so light it could be manhandled. Besides they have to start somewhere. At the very lest they are doing that.

well this idea is relatively old.... Its nice that some one here mentioned this small but nice fact. In georgia we do not have light combat vehicles and due to our terrain we need more armor because we will have to use them not in open terrain for observation and recconossance but we obviously will have to use then in populated or mountain area.

Like I stated before. Why not buy armor cheap from Russia or Ukraine? Just get used armor. Should be better money spent than on this toy. Georgia does not need fancy stuff but it at least needs to be armored.

well we are bying stuff from Ukraine. who sad that we don`t???
but this type of vehicles is also neccesary. if it it is home made it is cheap.
so why not to have some LCV))))

Levan
04-26-2005, 06:59 AM
also such vehicles will be neccesary in peace keeping operations, somwhere else. any way this toy looks good. we practiced earlier such things. Putting Ungided Rocket launchers on UAZ vehicles. also BRDM vehicles where used for riot control or for combat recon.... BRDM is larger and heavier than this light car.... do we need this Delga. Yes we do..... but only for special operation purposes. thats why SOF in Kodzhori are recieving them. and damn, this is the cheapest LCV I know......

The idea is you camouflage it and set it up at the edge of a forrest

Wait for the enemy to come by, and either kill them all in on burst of fire from all guns or tell the guys back home were to drop the bombs. It's not meant to go up against mbt's or participate in mechanized manouvre warfare. but Airmobile ops, you can't have heavily armoured vehicles for this purpose and if you guys get your head out of your respective asses you'll probably notice similar vehicles in every army in the world, has nothing to do with Georgia being poor or whatever

it's like our Lohr LSV's

http://tanxheaven.com/ljs/kluvolkelljs/24-LOHR-LSV_AT_GIL,Volkel.JPG

light, fast, all terrain general purpose, not an infantry fighting vehicle and imo it looks like it can get the job done very well the only thing I don't like about is it's high silhouet

That’s horrible. It looks like a bunch of snipers in old burlap threw up on the poor thing.

Why is the ground covered in new IR/Radar absorbent cammo? You have a thing about the enemy seeing you ground?

And what’s with the pallet?

Oh nice pics. Thanks

because it's still a secret and if you can't see it, it will kill your precious M! Abrams with the Gill AT missile

and the ground is camoed because it looks cool

It's on a static display, so don't mind the camo-net on the ground.
The camouflage on the vehicle is of a type often used but the 11th Air Manouvre brigade and by the KCT (commando's). It's very effective in the terrain.
