Oh and whats more is that I'll be a distance education student. So everything is sent out in the mail and off the internet so I can continue working and what not.

I go to a university that has DEN ( distance education learning) facilities....and i think its pretty cool...sometimes when i dont feel like going to the univ..i just watch the lecture online from home or access the archives and watch it later whenever i want to.

You need that in Germany... Just as you need to know latin and ancient greek if you want to study theology...
I guess German universities just don't hand out degrees to anyone...rofl

I also should have said that while I didn't need to take Latin to study history, all Bachelor of Arts students (no matter what their major is) still need 6 credits of language courses. This of course is fairly laughable since 6 credits equals only 2 classes.

All German students have learned at least 2 foreign languages in Grammar School, they only have to take a small test to confirm their skills, if needed.

The only language Canadian students have to learn in elementary and secondary school is french. Even then, when most graduate from secondary school their grasp of french is on the poor side. Even if one did have a good grasp of french from taking it in school, the only place it will do them any good is in Quebec (most of the french taught in Canadian schools is not Parisian french but Quebec patois)
