Use google, there a plenty of pictures.

Offcourse plenty of low-res, but high res pics are quite hard to find. I hope our Russian/non-English fans have more material available or some users who made soms pics by themselves.

Still, the Su-15 was retired before the break-up of the USSR, so the type never served in the Ukrainian Air Force. The ukrainian markings were painted on at the museum.

I usually like the design of Soviets jets but Su-15 just has to be one ugly SOB. One of the reason why you would not find good hi rez photo.

Ukraine flew the Flanker in VPS Ukraini (is that correct) markings at least from or to Storage.

Approximately 60 were present when I visited Bila Tserkva in 1998, friends of mine had 3 flying a year earlier.

That's why I like it. It's a pretty unique design.

That type shot down KAL 007 ?

Exactly. And for the people who don't know what a KAL 007 is; It was the lost Korean 747 that was "accidently" shot down in Soviet skies during the cold war crisis. Soviets ment it was an spy-plane and claimed that they never recognized it as a harmless airliner that carried about 269 innocent citizens including crew. No one survived it.

And a Su-15 Flagon did nearly shoot down another airliner :cantbeli:

On the 9 August 1984 A Soviet fighter pursuing an Airbus 310 jetliner intruded thirty miles into Swedish airspace, at one point closing to within about a mile of the airliner, which was unaware of the fighter. Radio intercepts showed that the Su-15 Flagon fighter had armed and locked on its air-to-air missiles. The Soviets, on October 21, officially denied that any such thing had happened and claimed the jet was fifty miles from where the Swedish radars showed it."

Yeah I read about it. And if you're interested in this airplane and related stories, look for the book "sukhoi interceptors" of writer Yefim Gordon. And there's also lots of photos in this interesting book.
