'Bomb and we will marry'

A JAILED killer promised his girlfriend they would get married if she bombed a public place in Sydney, a court heard yesterday.
Police allege Hussan Kalache, 28, conspired with Jill Courtney, 26, to place explosives in or near a public place with intent to cause harm.
No target had been picked for the attack and no explosives obtained.
Central Local Court was told Kalache - serving 22 years at Lithgow jail for the 2000 shooting murder of a rival drug dealer - made the plans over nine months to March 23 this year.
Courtney was arrested by counter-terrorism police at a home in Casula on March 24.
Several homes in the suburb and nearby Hoxton Park were also searched in connection with the alleged plot.
It is believed the pair met while Kalache was in jail. Furious at the Cronulla riots, he allegedly told Muslim convert Courtney they would wed if she went through with her mission.
Kalache was also charged with conspiring to murder persons unknown. He did not appear in court yesterday to face the charges - and was not required to enter any pleas.
Courtney is charged with the same offences as her boyfriend.
After she appeared in court, police sources said Courtney had obtained information on how to build an explosive device and made telephone calls in relation to the planned bombing.
Her lawyer Adam Houda, who has represented a number of high-profile terror suspects, also told
her original court hearing that he was worried about his client's mental health.
He asked the duty registrar that day to ensure she was psychiatrically assessed as soon as possible. Magistrate Allan Moore adjourned the case to July 25.
