Nice photos, that second pic is a GREAT explanation to people who ask why there is no more armor in the Red Square Victory parades in Moscow :) And this is just one tank! I guess half of Moscow had to be repaved after each 9th of May parade during the Soviet times!

THX for interesting pics.
Are they recent ones or a mix of new and old? Some of the equipment looks rather old (M-16A1's in one pic f.ex.).
As newer models of the armalite family of rifles/carabines in NATO have a twisting of rifling tailored to the SS109 type 5.56 ammo, have IDF followed suit, or do you still use pre-SS109 type ammo? (also wondered about the same, with regards to the French armed forces and the FA-MAS, as I presume the FA-MAS was introduced to service shortly before NATO settled for the Belgian design SS109 type ammo for 5.56 calibre weapons).

There's some "old" pics but these with the soldiers are all recent...

Ah, the Merkava - brilliant design. If you look at the very early makes of the Merk you will notice that the suspension and turret look remarkably like that of the British Cheiftain. Why ? Because we cut a deal with the Israelis - they would help us design the next generation of tank - the Cheiftain - , and we would provide them with those tanks and the tooling to build them. Alas the partnership collapsed under Arab pressure - we didnt sell them the tank, so they went on to design their own. So there you have it - at least two of the wotlds great tanks have had Israeli hands in their design - oi vey !

The m193 is usually used, the SS109 being kept for the sharpshooters using the A3 and other configurations designed for mid range shooting, and the neguev of course.
As of the FAMAS, it was using a rifling `in between` designed for french ammo, but 'digest' pretty well the ss109 from what i know.
