An opinion poll suggests most Iraqis feel their lives have improved since the war in Iraq began about a year ago.
The survey, carried out for the BBC and other broadcasters, also suggests many are optimistic about the next 12 months and opposed to violence.

this poll reveals only part of the larger picture. the life of the average iraqi has improved significantly with the removal of the saddam regime, so, in this sense, the poll reflects the truth. on the other hand, the escalation in low-intensity warfare, the lack of essential services, etc., would alter the results.

having said all of this, some members should not automatically take a poop on all posts that indicate a positive side to the military invasion of iraq. the removal of saddam was\is a great development and the iraqi people should have a bright future, in large part due to american efforts.

Why do all these surveys have such small samples? Are they even representative?

If the selection is done after protocoll, then a selection of 1040 people is enough to get a poll with 3% error-marginal. The 'evidence' will be shown during statistics-class in the university - I don't remember it enough to repost it here.
