That’s a demonstrator aircraft, the "SAAB 210", nicknamed the "LillDraken (Little Dragon)". You can see it on the air force museum today :)

WTF is that?

Couple of years ago I have seen in TV (Discovery?) a documentary about Area 51, captured and man-made flying saucers etc... and some researcher showed "blueprints" for this USAF flying saucer which was supposed to be operational in 1950s - 60s... Thats the reason why i think that this picture is a 3D model "photoshoped" to picture of Nevada.

to the other planes: The firs one is similar to transport plane called Super Guppy, the flying wing is unknown to me, on the 3rd is Corvair SeaDart - wonderful seaborne fighter! 4th - photoshop, 5th is X-"something" Stilleto

This is a testbed for cockpit or flight control integration or something like that. It's the cockpit of the test aircraft bolted onto the front of another aircraft. I think it was for the Comanche, but I'm not really sure if that's right. Basically it was a way to test various cockpit systems without building an entire working aircraft, they just built the front end and grafted it onto another helicopter for testing.

Nice pics everybody... if you check out http://www.luft46.com (http://www.luft46.com/) you'll find where are most of these weird designs come from.

Also check this out http://www.janes.com/defence/air_forces/news/idr/idr000704_1_n.shtml - an article from Janes about future designs, very interesting.

Basically it was a way to test various cockpit systems without building an entire working aircraft, they just built the front end and grafted it onto another helicopter for testing.

I think it was used to test single-pilot operation with emphasis on workload evaluation. Tests proved that single pilot helicopter flying was at the time risky especially at low altitudes.

Basic rule of design. att any given time leading edge designs will look wery simmilar because fysics sets the rules.
Look at shipdesign during the ages. or comercial airplanes or modern cars.

they are all wery simmilar.

You are one of the few here who knows that the fysics sets the rules and don't cry "they stoled from us"!

I'm 95% sure this one is photoshopped. Where the vertical tail stabiliser should be, clone brush smudge is visible.

Yah that last one has to be cause I know that plane, like I've seen it before and it had a tail, plus the smudge gives it away

This is a computer enhanced artist's concept of a semi-tailless X-31 Enhanced Fighter Maneuverability Aircraft in flight. In 1994, software was installed in the X-31 to demonstrate the feasibility of stabilizing a tailless aircraft at supersonic speed, using thrust vectoring. This software allowed destabilization through the control laws of the aircraft in incremental steps to the goal of simulation 100 percent tail-off. Quasi-tailless tests began in 1994. The first phase started with supersonic evaluations at Mach 1.2. Later subsonic evaluations were performed. During the flights the aircraft was destabilized with the rudder to stability levels that would be encountered if the aircraft had a reduced size vertical tail.

The tail less aircraft could exist, but I'm still 95% sure it's not the one in the picture hehe.

But still allied used as testbed those german and japanese planes to develope own planes. It was not stealing, it was borrowing.

for example Ta-183 vs. Mig-15

The Germans also "borrowed" from others.
