On Savin Kuk, Mt. Durmitor, one of the most beautiful ski resorts in Montenegro, the 63rd Parachute Brigade successfully carried out the training in winter conditions...

The "Car planina" (Tsar mountain), as many call it, is beautiful this winter as ever. Lake "Crno jezero" is frozen, and the citizens of Zabljak say - if the lake is frozen and snow covers it, and you see fox trails on it, feel free to cross it yourself. Where a fox crosses the ice, it's safe for a man to walk...

Above the lake lies "Medjed" (Bear), one of Mt. Durmitor's summits, overgrown with black mountain pines, locally called "klek". Southwest of "Medjed" lies 2,313m high "Savin kuk" with a ski lift and a number of ski runs that make it one of the most beautiful and most attractive ski resorts in Montenegro.

This is where the 63rd Parachute Brigade carried out an exercise in winter conditions, training skiing and winter alpinism.

We have followed the activities of the search and rescue platoon. A ski trail suddenly disappearing among the rocks above an abyss raised a suspicion that someone less skilled went astray and possibly got injured or killed. The search and rescue platoon climbing team was ready in an instant. Headed by commander of the platoon Lieutenant Goran Stojanovic, they started out on a mission. Soon after, they found the victim among the rocks. Skilled climbers climbed down the rock and acted quickly and accurately. There is no mystery in this area for a skilled and trained rescuer. Soon the evacuation unit appeared. Plowing among the rocks with Aki boats, they reached the injured, fixed his forearm, put him in a boat, tied him to protect him from falling out and set off down the slope. An ambulance was waiting for them at the foot...

The rescue operation was successfully carried out by Goran Cvetkovic, Vladimir Djukic and Dusan Pavicevic... in a jiffy called the "rescuers from Savin kuk".
